Sleeth Gallery presents: LOLWUT
An exhibition of intermedia and performance art
BUCKHANNON, WV – The Sleeth Gallery is excited to open the 2013–2014 gallery season with LOLWUT: An exhibition of intermedia and performance art. The exhibition will run from September 3 – 19, 2013; an opening reception will be held on September 5 from 4:30 – 6:00pm with artist talks to immediately follow at 6:00. The gallery is located on the first floor of McCuskey Hall at West Virginia Wesleyan College, at the intersection of East Main Street and College Avenue in Buckhannon, WV. Admission is free.
LOLWUT features art by 10 national and international artists working in a variety of performance-based media including video, audience participation and live performance. While the concept of performance threads the exhibition together, works address various themes such as gender, celebrity culture, identity and cultural / political awareness. Participating artists include: Toni Billick, Morgan Cahn, Maria Raquel Cochez, Sara Holwerda, Sarah Kelly, Anya Liftig, Noelle Mason, Caroline Peters, Neal Calvin Peterson, and Lisa Corine von Koch.
The exhibition continues advancing the goals of the Sleeth Gallery, connecting students and the community with practicing, contemporary artists.
