What is different about an addition sentence in vertical form?

- Review the positions of top, middle, bottom using three colors of connecting cubes.  

- Whole Group: Display pictures on smartboard to show how to complete a horizontal addition sentence, use the same pictures and show how to rearrange the same addition sentence in vertical form.  Have volunteers complete addition sentences in vertical form.  

- Independent Practice: Complete activity sheet for adding in vertical form.
