NAME(S) ON TILE:                 CLAIR AND MARILYN CHANDLER

DONOR NAME(S):                   MONROEVILLE HISTORICAL SOCIETY

The Monroeville Historical Society would like to honor two very special members with this Pittsburgh Regional History Center “tile.”

Clair Chandler is a craftsman filled with practical knowledge and building expertise.  He is always willing to help the society by building items such as the display case for “Old Stone Church” memorabilia and a model of the “McCully Log House,” that the society is rebuilding.  The list of items he has made or repaired is too long to mention here.

Marilyn Chandler is our historian.  She has researched the history of our area and compiled it into the book “Hamlets to Highways.”  She loves to share her knowledge with school children through craft demonstrations and “McGinley House” tours.  She has prepared and narrated a local history slide show of things and places, past and present.  Marilyn is also the person who can make the right contacts to get “things done” for our society.

Our thanks to these two Monroeville Historical Society Ambassadors.
