Jason R. Levine has twenty-seven years of experience as an English teacher, teacher trainer, and materials writer. He has conducted student workshops and teacher training programs in Europe, Africa, Southeast Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East based on the songs and videos he creates as Fluency MC.
After earning a master’s degree in TESOL from Hunter College (City University of New York), Jason became the director of curriculum development at Embassy English. In 2002, he co-founded a business English and TOEFL preparation school in New York City. He has taught courses in the MA TESOL program at The New School and worked as a trainer and consultant for Linguaid. In 2013, he created and launched ELT Techniques, the first live MOOC for English language teachers.
Based in Paris, France, Jason conducts Rhyme On Time workshops and teacher training sessions in countries across the globe. He also teaches TOEIC and TOEFL courses and develops curriculum at Pôle Léonard de Vinci and EFREI, hosts monthly webinars for the American TESOL Institute, and works as an English Specialist for the U.S. Department of State. Jason has published materials with Oxford University Press, Editions Didier, and Black Cat. His self-published Fluency MC Song and Video Activity Book was a finalist for a 2017 British Council ELTons award.
Jason oversees the Fluency MC website, YouTube channel, Facebook page, TikTok channel, and Instagram account. "Stick, Stuck, Stuck" his music video to practice irregular verbs, has more than 50 million views across social media. In 2019, he performed it as a contestant on La France a un incroyable talent. His most recent venture, Fluency Cards, can be played on the web or on an app. He is also developing a new video practice program for young learners called Speak On Beat.
