MARANATHA'S PURPOSE:  

To glorify God by introducing people to Jesus as Savior, training them in Christian living, and sending them out to represent Christ to the world.

JOB PURPOSE:  

To serve the campers in this positive environment we create, called Maranatha Camp.  As a result, many will hear God speak and make decisions about salvation, discipleship and Christian service.

JOB SUMMARY:  

To support the operations of the camp by overseeing all aspects of camp’s technology, including audiovisual, networking, web, workstations, servers, file storage/backup, and cybersecurity. Has support for some of these areas from other staff members.

REPORTS TO/COMMUNICATES WITH:

Associate Director of Operations. Especially supports office staff, but really supports all of the staff with technical needs. Trains works with, and continually develops summer staff as audiovisual technicians.

IT RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Technology support, troubleshooting, and repair (hardware and software)

-Setup, configure, test and optimize of software and hardware (workstations, network equipment, audiovisual equipment)

-Keep workstation hardware and software updated as required

-Recognize and recovering from viruses/spyware/malware

-Maintain backups of critical machines and data

-Research, training staff, and advocate for the camp’s use of technology to increase efficiency or solve problems

-Administrative support (offload some tech-related tasks from departments who are not able to complete them for lack of time or knowledge)

-Network administration (maintain firewall, configure new clients, troubleshoot, etc)

-WIFI installation, maintenance & troubleshooting for all camp wifi spots

-A/V support in Conference Center and other designated areas around Camp

AUDIOVISUAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Manage and train seasonal help for running video and sound

-Perform pre-sound surveys & double checks to be prepared for each group

-Keep all equipment inventoried, organized, and cleaned

-Turnover sound booth, stage, & closets after each event

-Maintain and set up sound equipment

-Operate sound and video equipment (as required, esp. in retreat season)

WEBSITE RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Maintain the structure and backend of the website

-Develop new or in-progress aspects of the website

-Update information as needed with accurate, grammatically correct, and visually appealing information

-Have a working-knowledge of our camp registration web-software and be able to configure and use it as needed

VIDEOGRAPHY & PHOTOGRAPHY RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Run point on any video requests for camp

-Be the primary photographer for events

-Keep our YouTube account updated with content

-Keep all video, photos, and other media organized on the Media & Design shared drive

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Act as a liaison between camp and program directors/guest groups for audiovisual and technology needs, before, during, and after events

-Attends and participates in team meetings as needed.

-Advise and communicate with any consultant resources available on facilities audiovisual or technology upgrades

-Perform other duties in other departments as assigned, especially during our non-summer season

WORK SCHEDULE COMMITMENT:

Summer Camp Season - 6 days/week, 8-10 hours/day as camp schedule requires. (Includes split-shifts)

Retreat Season – 5 days/week, 40 hours/week as assigned by supervisor

Description – This position requires working during non-business hours and weekends during events. When not working events, the schedule follows a flexible regular business workweek under the discretion of the supervisor.

For the purpose of the agreement, the following benefits are restated: Housing+utilities or stipend, Meals in the Dining Hall when serving, Monthly salary, Life Insurance stipend, and deputized to raise Personal Support Income to cover the remainder of the approved personal budget amount.
