CROSSING THE ROADS
I am gravely concerned when I read in Saturday’s Herald that a 5 year old child has been hit by a vehicle on their way to school. Gossamer Drive is a very busy road and is extremely dangerous at all times.
Our staff are greatly concerned about the high number of parents / families that are NOT using our pedestrian crossing each day whilst they are picking up and dropping off their children, our students, to Elm Park School. Our staff spend valuable time each day monitoring the pedestrian crossing to ensure that everyone is safe. However, this is increasingly difficult when we are ignored and verbally abused putting the children in grave danger everyday.
The Police are often present at our crossing at our request and they are horrified at the way motorists and pedestrian are behaving. There will be many more Police present as a result and many people will be given fines as a result of misdemeanours. Please, please ensure that more care is taken outside our school.
PARENT CONTRIBUTION AND ACTIVITY PAYMENTS
Thank you to those parents who have already paid. Just call the office if you are not sure if you have made a payment. We now have credit card facilities at the office. Our Teams have organised lots of exciting trips and activities for our students so please ensure their activities fees are up to date.
Have a lovely weekend.

Looking Ahead
PAYMENT BY CREDIT CARD - We now have the facility for you to pay with Credit Cards when making payments in the office. Hopefully this will be helpful to many of you.
Parent Contribution / Activity Fee reminder statements will be sent home next week. Please note that you are now able to pay by Credit Card.
YUMMY Stickers!! We are once again collecting these. Last year we received approximately $800.00 worth of equipment. Please send along any Yummy stickers you collect from a variety of apples.
Visiting Duchesses Dance Crew from last Friday’s lunchtime show
Second hand uniform - Just a plea that we only accept clean, near new clothing at the uniform shop to sell on behalf of parents/whanau. We are happy to accept donations of clothing for our students who get muddy or have an accident but please could it be clean, no holes or paint on the articles of clothing. We want our children to be smartly dressed and proud of our uniform.
Thank you for your co-operation.

Colgate®, a global leader in oral care, has partnered with TerraCycle® to help provide a second life for toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes, toothpaste caps, floss containers, and their outer packaging materials.
Help divert landfill waste by sending your oral care products to Elm Park so that we can send to TerraCycle. For each approved item received, Elm Park School will be awarded two TerraCycle points. 2014 National Standards Data for Elm Park School
Dear School Community,
As part of our ongoing fundraising, we’re trying something a little different with a fantastic ecostore ‘Good Soap’ Fundraiser.
Selling for $2.50 each, the 80g ecostore soaps are excellent value and $1 from each soap will go to Elm Park School
If you haven’t tried ecostore soaps before, they’re beautiful to use, free of nasty chemicals and have a lovely fragrance.
You’ll be able to buy your Good Soap from the office from Monday 9 March 2015.
Fundraising activities like this make an important contribution towards Elm Park School for the benefit of our school community. We’re looking forward to a successful fundraising drive.
Thank you for your support.
