Dear parents,

This week, we focused on the theme- How do we learn in class? אֵיךְ לוֹמְדִים בַּכִּתָּה?
Through discussions, games, and practice, the children learned new action words (verbs) that describe classroom activities, such as:

The children practiced forming full sentences in Hebrew using these verbs. We worked in our books, completed worksheets, and played games that helped reinforce both vocabulary and grammar.

In addition, we were very excited to begin learning script Hebrew writing (כתב יד). We started with the letter א, and then continued with ה and י. The children practiced writing each letter focusing on correct formation and direction.
As the weeks go on, we will learn all the letters and build confidence in writing words and sentences in script.

Have a great half term!

Reut.

For HW-

*Please write the following letters in script on a sheet of paper: Alef (א), Vav (ו), Yod (י) 3lines for each letter.

17.10.2025

Dear Parents,

This week, we focused on reviewing basic vocabulary and structures that the children learned last year. Our goal was to refresh their memory and build confidence.

We started with the days of the week in Hebrew. Today is.. (היום יום…) Yesterday was  (אתמול היה יום…) Tomorrow is… (מחר יום…) The children practiced putting the days in order, writing them down, and even using them in simple sentences. For example- ביום ראשון אני הולך לחוג (On Sunday, I go to club)

Next, we reviewed the topic "What’s in the pencil case?"
The children practiced words such as: pencil (עיפרון), rubber (מחק), sharpener (מחדד), scissors (מספריים), glue (דבק), and crayons (צבעים). Each child chose an item and created a descriptive sentence in Hebrew, For example:
זה עיפרון ירוק (This is a green pencil), זה מחק קטן ולבן (This is a small white rubber).

Today, we continued with the topic "What’s in the classroom?"
We learned and practiced words like: door (דלת), window (חלון), wall (קיר), cupboard (ארון), book (ספר), table (שולחן), chair (כיסא), and more. The children worked together to label the classroom with the correct Hebrew words. They practiced using descriptive words such as big, small, and colors to enrich their sentences.                                   Have a great weekend,

Reut.

Dear parents,                                                                                                                             This week, we dedicated our learning to Sukkot!🌿🍋                                                      We began by asking “What do you know about Sukkot? Together, we explored the traditions and symbols of the holiday:

-People build a Sukka just like the Bnei Yisrael did in the desert.
-The Sukkah has a roof called Schach (branches or leaves).
-It is decorated beautifully and can have 4, 3, or even 2.5 walls.

-On Sukkot we have Four Species-אַרְבָּעָה מִינִים :
Etrog (yellow)
Lulav, Hadas, and Aravah (all green plants).
The children wrote and drew beautiful things in their notebooks!
They practiced saying in Hebrew nice sentences about Sukkot.

Later in the week, we focused on the verb "לשבת" (to sit in the Sukkah).
We learned that every verb has a root, three Hebrew letters that repeat in different forms.
We practiced the different forms of the verb:

The root is - י.ש.ב

The children did a wonderful job working in their books and using the new vocabulary!

Today, we listened  and watched a story from Italam called Why do we sit in the Sukkah on Sukkot?
We highlighted more Hebrew verbs related to the Sukkah:
אוכלים (eat), שותים (drink), ישנים (sleep), שמחים (are happy).

Chag Sameach!

12.9.2025

Dear Parents,

I had a wonderful time meeting all the children this week and beginning to get to know them!
We dedicated the week to fun and meaningful activities to help us connect and build our classroom community.

Together, we wrote our classroom rules- each child contributed lovely ideas, and we compiled them into a list that will be displayed in our class.

We also played a name game, where each child said their name along with a Hebrew word that starts with the same letter. In another game, the children picked random "getting to know you" questions and answered them in front of the class.

Additionally, we filled out a fun worksheet with personal questions such as: "My favorite color," "My family," "My favorite place," and more.

Looking forward to a year full of learning, growth, and joy!

I attached song we opened with it every morning-

19.9.2025

Dear parents,

Hope you are doing well.

This week, we dedicated all our learning to Rosh Hashanah. We learned about the special symbols of the holiday:

We listened to a story, worked in our books, played games and the children had a wonderful time!

In addition, we learned about Shana Tova cards and what kind of wishes we include in them. Today, each child created a special Shana Tova card for their family (please ask your child for it if you haven’t received it yet). We also enjoyed tasting apples dipped in honey together for a sweet new year.

Wishing you all שָׁנָה טוֹבָה וּמְתוּקָה וְחַג שָׂמֵחַ!
