A Senior Developer in the Fund Accounting Technology Group at S|A|C liaises with the Financial Reporting, Tax, Fund Accounting, and Operations teams to design and build strategic solutions for a wide range of business problems. The Geneva accounting system is at the core of these solutions. A set of components built on the .Net framework facilitate integration with the rest of the Back Office platform. This individual will assist with the expansion of the existing platform as well as future development.

Specific responsibilities include:

-Building out the External Reporting platform to facilitate automation of regulatory filing

-Working with end users to design new processes and customize Geneva to meet specific needs defined by Accounting and Operations staff

-Translating business specifications to complete technical specifications including time and resource estimations

-Designing and building software leveraging Geneva and SQL platforms

-Understanding the entire back office technology infrastructure and what role fund accounting technology plays in the domain

Requirements

-Strong programming experience with Microsoft SQL Server required

-Strong Microsoft Excel skills required

Job Description

Configuration Management team at SAC Capital owns and supports the Firm’s SDLC practices and tools, facilitates software build, packaging, release process and its improvements; ensures implementation of regulatory compliance practices and controls. The responsibilities of CM Engineer include:

•Daily interaction with software developers to support software source control, build, packaging, release, and deployment.

•Ownership and improvement of enterprise CM tools, servers and databases.

•Authoring and management of MSI installers for all types of Windows-based applications.

•Set-up of software distribution packages for automated software delivery and installation.

•Working closely with all IT Development and Infrastructure groups, staff training; supporting the Firm’s SDLC practices and implementation of compliance standards.

•Proactive interaction with Software Development and Infrastructure managers and team leads to continuously improve and optimize the software release and deployment process.

•Maintenance and improvement of group’s custom .NET and Java software, DOS scripts, and various automations, documenting group’s processes and procedures.

Requirements

Our ideal candidate will be someone who is highly motivated, driven, and has extensive experience in the field of Configuration Management in a financial institution. This person must have hands-on experience in managing CM tools, MSI software packaging, have the ability to work independently through highly complex issues and is comfortable working in fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities.

Additionally, the candidate will possess the following qualifications:

•BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

•At least 5 years experience in CM role within financial organization, attention to detail, ability to multi-task.

•Expert understanding of CM practices in a context of a Software Development Life Cycle

•Strong source control, bug-tracking, knowledge-base, and Windows system administration skills. Knowledge of SVN, JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, and FishEye is a plus.

•Expert hands-on knowledge of MSI technology and software packaging using InstallShield for client, service, agents, web services, console applications and IIS webs is a must. InstallShield scripting is a big plus.

•Software distribution using LANDesk or Altiris deployment solution. Understanding of deployment scheduling, software pre-requisites.

•Extensive knowledge of Windows OS, understanding of cluster and load-balancing technologies.

•Strong DOS scripting; knowledge of PowerShell, and Unix Korn shell is a plus.

•Beginner to intermediate knowledge of .NET programming –ability to understand, maintain and improve CM custom apps.

Requirements

A Daily Fund Accounting Associate’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

•Daily T+1 reconciliation of assigned accounts. These accounts include equity accounts, futures accounts, actively traded equity swap accounts and treasury accounts.

•Investigation and resolution of differences between Geneva and SAC prime brokers

•Timely and accurate recording of non-trade related income and expenses in Geneva.

•Actively participating in the month end close process, insuring that Geneva is accurate for month end reporting
