Distinguished Sir, Dear Maestro,

Please accept my warmest and heartiest greetings, paid to you in the language of our beloved country, and permit me to apply to you, as a keen champion of Hungarian youth, in the interests of the following noble cause:

On the occasion of the tricentenary of the foundation of the Royal Hungarian Péter Pázmány University, and in aid and support of those students living in the direst want, the Budapest Arts Faculty’s “Árpád” Cooperative Society will be hosting a charity gala concert, at half past eight in the evening in the main auditorium of the College of Music, with performances by the foremost artists of the Royal Hungarian Opera, the Royal Hungarian National Theatre and the College of Music itself.

The guest of honour at our gala concert will be His Highness General Archduke Joseph and the chief patrons of the event include members of the Royal Hungarian government as well as leading figures from ecclesiastical, military and civilian circles.

We respectfully invite you, most distinguished Sir, in the light of your enthusiastic support of Hungarian youth, to do us the honour of being the chief sponsor of our event.

We ask this in the full assurance of your compassionate heart and your philanthropy; in the sanguine hope that you will lend the full weight of your support to our noble cause; safe also in the knowledge that he who comes to the aid of the indigent among the youth of Hungary performs the most sacred service to Greater Hungary as a whole.

We are fully confident that you, most distinguished Sir, will lend a favourable ear to our modest request and that you will extend a helping hand to the diligent, striving yet regrettably needy students in our society.

With grateful thanks to you in advance for your generosity, we remain, in the name of all the young members of the Budapest Arts Faculty, your sincere and patriotic admirers,

[illegible] Mindszenti
