Greetings traveler, and welcome to the Llamas & Legends Legacy challenge! This challenge features a unique blend of The Sims 4 and the beloved tabletop roleplaying game known as Dungeons & Dragons. You will craft your tale by rolling dice & completing challenging quests every generation as you choose your own adventure.

I created this challenge because I wanted to pay homage to D&D and Critical Role™, which got me through a tough time in my life. There are a few references here and there that fans, hardcore or casual, might pick up on! I hope you enjoy playing in a fresh, new, exciting way that you might not have attempted in the past! I want this challenge to force you out of your comfort zone and usual gameplay patterns - but most importantly, to have fun and follow your heartfire ₊˚⊹♡

Instructions:

Each generation is based on a D&D 5e class and has 2 paths to choose from referred to as subclasses. (ex. Bard = Artist or Musician). You will select one of the subclasses to play per generation. There is no wrong decision - go with what feels like the most fun or makes the most sense for the story you are trying to tell. Each subclass has flavor text along with a set of stats (🌠 aspiration, ☯️ traits, ✅ likes, 🟥 dislikes) that you will assign to your sim based on which subclass you choose. I recommend reading ahead by at least 1 generation so you know how to prepare your heir for their generation.

There is also a 💰 career and a 📈 set of skills you must level up to the listed requirement in order to be counted as complete. If there is no requirement listed then you are free to level it as high as you choose.

 There are also 🌟 2 quests per subclass that you must complete. These quests are meant to take some time and might even carry over into the next generation. You are allowed to “move on” when your next generation is ready, (usually teen or young adult), as long as you are still working towards the previous generation’s quests.

        

I wrote a base game only challenge a few years ago, (The Career Legacy Challenge), so this is my take on a challenge without any pack limits! I am hoping there is a bit of versatility since there are multiple routes you can take per generation - which means you won’t need every pack on this list. You are also welcome to adjust anything this challenge contains to fit your personal collection. Some of the packs are used for a trait or a skill vs. being the center of the entire generation, so they might be easier to work around!

Roll The Dice:

Create a Holiday on your sim’s calendar every Thursday called “Roll The Dice”. You can edit “Harvestfest” to “Harvestfest+RollTheDice” if you do not want to remove that holiday. You can assign an in-game activity to this holiday if you want but it’s not required. It’s meant to be an in-game reminder for you.

Holiday Instructions:

Before bed, have your sims “celebrate” by rolling a d20. You can use physical dice or use a virtual dice roller like this one: 🫳 Bag of Shiny Math Rocks ✨🎲

Take your result and cross reference this chart to see what outcome your sim will receive. The higher the roll, the better the result. A natural 1 is a critical failure while a natural 20 is a critical success!

The Ick. Add a dislike of your choosing to your sim in CAS.

Game night! Have everyone in the household play a game together.

Shopping Success! Make a new outfit for your sim in any category.

Wish! You’ve stumbled across the Wish Spell! Make a wish on the well from Romantic Gardens!

Self Discovery! Add a like of your choosing to your sim in CAS.

Charisma Check! Choose any sim you know and cheat their relationship to make you automatic friends.

16.

Refreshing! Until next Thursday you can cheat all of your needs to full one (1) time whenever you choose.

17.

Centered. Delete one (1) fear - if your sim has any. You can do this once until next Thursday.

18.

Intelligence Check! Add a level to a skill of your choice!

19.

Super Skilled! Roll a d20 for another trait from the rewards trait chart! (roll until you get something new)

Generation 1: Bard

        Being the center of attention is everything to you. You crave the spotlight and recognition for your brilliance and all of the music you create. Your actions and creations will pave the way for your future generations to come, so don’t waste this opportunity to do something fantastic! You WILL achieve fame and make something of your name, nothing will get in the way of that. Something that is really important to you is having a space to hang out and have a good time with close friends and family. Is it selfish to use your fame and fortune to build a stunning Lounge/Bar in the name of your family to be passed down for the generations to come? I think not!

🎨 College of Arts

        Packs Used: Get Famous

        Being recognized and remembered is everything to you. You want nothing more than to preserve all of your art for the world to enjoy forever. You are constantly jealous of other artist’s being featured in museums while you are struggling to get an installation anywhere. You must take it into your own hands because surely only you will give your artwork the respect and honor it truly deserves. Your name will be known and you will use your fame and fortune to open a museum for you and your descendants ONLY. That way your family name will be honored and remembered for generations to come.

Generation 2: Warlock

🪦 Pact of Death

        Packs Used: Life & Death, Lovestruck

All roads lead to death, and you are well aware of that. You have spent your life always looking over your shoulder expecting to see Grim there. Or maybe you were just hopeful he would be there. You hold a strange reverence for Grim’s work and have always been infatuated with him. You want to learn from him and work beside him & hopefully find a way to impress him. He will become your Patron but you desperately want something more than that. You share similar interests so why wouldn’t it work between you two? You do not enjoy the idea of raising a child but you’ve always been curious if Life can be created by Death.

Your life has been full of laughter and love. Family is everything to you. Not every sim is born into such fortunate circumstances and that breaks your heart. You want to spread joy and goodwill to every sim you can so you know you must seek out Father Winter. He will become your Patron and assign you the means to help with his workforce. You hope to one day help supervise the production and distribution of toys for Winterfest. You know how the spirit of Winterfest directly affects Father Winter’s powers so you take it upon yourself to host an extravagant celebration in honor of your Patron and spread his message of joy to supply him with Winterfest cheer.

Generation 3: Monk

🕊️ Path of Peace

        Packs Used: Spa Day, High School Years

Keeping your body, mind and spirit healthy is of highest priority for you. You prioritize a zen environment and love a solid workout. Yoga and meditation is key and you want to share that with others. You dream about one day being able to host yoga sessions in your very own space - designed by you of course! Your parents worked really hard but created a stressful, overstimulating environment so you are always seeking peace. Your home is minimalist with little clutter, opposite to what you grew up with. You hate conflict and prefer to avoid it entirely or talk things out in a peaceful & respectful manner.

🥊 Path of Punches

        Packs Used: Strangerville, Spa Day

It’s important to be efficient, and for you that means using your fists to settle things. You value the deep connection you have with your body and take great care of it. You workout regularly and practice your fighting to maintain your quickness in combat. You know that there are bad sims out there who will disrespect the fighting forms you hold sacred, by using them for selfish personal gain, and you won’t stand for that. This will lead you to become a vigilante, but not a public one. You prefer to stay humble and continue to protect the sim world and keep the peace by using your fists - no thanks needed.

Generation 4: Barbarian

🐺 Totem of the Wolf

        Packs Used: Werewolves, Spa Day, Eco Lifestyle

        You don’t remember much after the day you were bit by a werewolf as a teenager. All you remember is waking up with a scar. Ever since that day you have struggled with your temper. You are afraid of being close to people in fear of hurting them unintentionally, so you distance yourself from everyone. When your rage gets out of control you transform into a rampaging werewolf. You cause so much destruction and harm and you hate that about yourself. Your parents would be ashamed of you. It is very important to you that you learn how to control your wolf form in order to keep others safe, but maybe it’s not so bad to embrace some of the power that comes with being a werewolf. Maybe you can use it for good…or will the power consume you and influence you to use it for evil?

🐻 Totem of the Bear

Packs Used: City Living

        You struggle with your temper, you always have, which is ironic considering your parents were all about peace or whatever. You get into fights often and prefer to exchange punches instead of words. You have decided to use your body for feats of strength rather than what your parents tried to instill in you. You enjoy pushing yourself to the limit and strive to become as strong as possible. Working out is one of the only things that helps you control your temper so you have a weekly workout routine that you follow religiously. Becoming the strongest version of yourself is important to you. You want others to look at you and be intimidated.

Generation 5: Druid

🌿 Circle of the Earth

Packs Used: Cats & Dogs, Cottage Living

        After living through all of the rage & outbursts your parent dealt with daily you have decided to create a quiet sanctuary for animals. You love talking to the birds and rabbits that live on your lot and giving them little gifts - sometimes they return the favor! They bring you a sense of peace and quiet your mind when you get anxious. You feel deep in your heart that you want to give back to them for all they help you through your daily life. Your way of doing this will be through Veterinary Practice. Your goal is to help animals in need no matter what. You are a gentle spirit who hates to cause any harm so you also tend a small garden to keep you connected to nature.

🌙 Circle of the Moon

Packs Used: Cats & Dogs, Crystal Creations, Vampires, Lovestruck, Highschool Years, Get To Work

        You’ve always had a preference for the shadows of the night over the heat of the day. You feel a closeness to the moon that you can’t describe, and you channel it into your creations. You have an obsession with crafting jewelry out of gems that catch the moonlight. Your dream is to open a jewelry shop of your own! You have a cat companion who is by your side for life and you are looking into ways to extend its natural lifespan so that you won’t have to say goodbye. You’ve heard vampires know a thing or two about extending lifespans...so it might be good to seek them out.

Generation 6: Rogue

🥷 Shadow Stalker

Packs Used: Lovestruck

You prefer the solitude and silence of living alone. It’s always easier alone. You can focus on what matters most to you, stealing from the establishments that rival your family’s. You join a criminal organization to learn the craft of being the perfect thief. You often break into houses to practice for bigger missions. If a sim catches you, they must be silenced. You also guard your heart because you know how easy it is for it to break. Even if you so deeply want a connection, you struggle to allow yourself to show any vulnerability or “weakness” as you see it. You might be alone forever so you steal to fill the void.

🕷️ Black Widow

Packs Used: Vampires, Lovestruck

You weren’t born a vampire. You’re just a boring old regular sim. How is that fair? Vampires are not only beautiful and deadly, they are forever. You crave eternity and will stop at nothing to achieve it. In your eyes, everything is yours for the taking, including the lives of unsuspecting sims after seducing them. Your dream is to one day own a beautiful mansion full of all the riches you could ever desire and then live forever. You obviously have some insecurities to work through but why bother when you can buy your happiness and hide behind your riches?

Generation 7: Cleric

⚕️ Cleric of Health

Packs Used: Get to Work, Life & Death, For Rent

Growing up you witnessed a lot of troubling things and felt powerless to do anything about it. You didn’t like feeling helpless so you promised yourself you would devote your future to helping others, unlike your parent who did the opposite. As an aspiring healer you know how helpful and necessary medicine can be - but you have also learned that food can be like medicine too. After doing extensive amounts of research in your field you have discovered that your talents as a healer could be infused into a food known as Ambrosia. This food could restore life to a sim who you feel was taken too soon! All of your time spent outside of the clinic is spent perfecting your craft and looking for the recipe for this rumored Ambrosia. You cannot afford to fail!

⏳ Cleric of Cycles

Packs Used: Life & Death

Death is a part of life and you know that very well. Your parent did not respect the delicacy of this balance so you have taken it upon yourself to correct the damage they did. You devote your life to helping sims prepare to enter the next phase of their existence. You have a fascination with the afterlife so most of your friends are ghosts. It wouldn’t be shocking for you to fall in love with a ghost one day. Sometimes you like to transform into a ghost temporarily to get used to the feeling that you will inevitably have to experience one day. You prioritize living life to the fullest and completing your bucket list in order to help your soul on its journey.

Generation 8: Ranger

🐴 Beast Master

Packs Used: Horse Ranch, Cottage Living, Seasons

You’ve always felt closer to animals, especially horses. Growing up you weren’t allowed to have any pets or animal companions because they were unpredictable. You know deep in your heart most animals are just misunderstood. You will prioritize rescuing a horse as soon as you have the means to do so. The horse will just be the beginning as you continue to fill your home and property with as many animals as you can handle. You love the natural world and swear to live off it by growing your own food and produce. You have a small garden as well for the sake of the bees - you can’t get enough of their honey! When you’re not tending to your ranch you are out in the fields training your horse to compete in the Ultimate Horse Championship. Your bond with your horse is the deepest bond you will experience in your lifetime.

🌴 Tropical Tamer

Packs Used: Island Living, For Rent

Your parent instilled in you the importance of helping others. This is something you have taken to heart and has inspired you to try to leave the world better than how you found it. You yearn to move to Sulani after hearing about the ecological disaster happening there. The beaches and water are polluted & nothing angers you more than seeing Nature being disrespected in this way. You turn that anger into passion and channel it into your work as you aim to learn more about Sulani while cleaning up the waters. You want to protect these lands and the people who live there, especially the merfolk. You have a deep respect for them and feel yourself drawn to the ocean. Perhaps you will find a way to join them one day?

Generation 9: Artificer

⚗️ Auspicious Alchemist

Packs Used: Get to Work, Strangerville, Growing Together

The natural world isn’t for you. You grew up having to help your parent and their passion for the great outdoors - but you have always felt more comfortable in the labs surrounded by technology. In fact you can’t get enough of it. You dedicate yourself to scientific advancements. One thing you did end up getting from your parents is the desire for adventure and discovery - except for you that means among the stars. You are certain there is life out there and you are determined to prove that. Some call you a mad scientist but you are just super careful with your projects and don’t trust anyone around your creations. They are only safe in your hands! You are always paranoid that other sims might try to swoop in and steal your work someday so you build an underground lab to perform your experiments in.

🤖 Terrorizing Tinker

Packs Used: Discover University

The lack of technology and gadgets in your upbringing helped shape you into the incredible Tinker you are today. You crave it. It’s in your blood. Maybe it’s the proximity to chemicals you work with or maybe it’s “₮ⱧɆ VØł₵Ɇ₴™” but you feel encouraged to cause a little bit of chaos through your creations. You always try to prioritise technological advancements through robotics, but what’s the harm in having a little fun with mischief here and there? You feel as though you are perfect and can make no mistakes. ₮ⱧɆ VØł₵Ɇ₴™ wouldn’t steer you wrong would they? Average sims tend to make mistakes all the time and constantly let you down, so it is your life’s goal to create a Servo. It will be perfect, just like you!

Generation 10: Wizard

🪄 Wand Wielder

Packs Used: Realm of Magic, Eco Lifestyle, Highschool Years, Get to Work

Magic can accomplish anything - even surpassing the limits of technology. Your parent was always so focused on technological matters whereas you were bewitched by magic the moment you perceived it. You discovered a portal in the woods by a waterfall as a teen that led you to the realm of magic itself. You desperately want to fit in somewhere so you sought tutelage and became a wizard yourself with your very own wand! Magic now runs through your veins and you want to share its wonders with the world. You devote your time to learning magical spells and creating lotions and potions, to sell everywhere you go. You are fascinated by the world of the occult and travel the world looking for occult sims to invite to your secret club. Perhaps you should consider creating the ultimate occult hangout - or maybe even a living space to accommodate all of your magical friends!

🔮 Tome Wielder

Packs Used: Realm of Magic, Life & Death, Get Famous

You seek knowledge, much like your parent before you. But not just any knowledge. You seek something worthy of being studied. Your books lead you to learn about a portal deep within the Glimmerbrook woods that will take you to the realm of magic. Now THAT sounds like something worthy of someone as skilled as you. You are quickly disappointed at how easy being a wizard comes to you. Although studying tomes and learning new potion recipes is fun, you seek something deeper. Perhaps you should look into mortality and how to overcome it? That seems like the most powerful thing a wizard could achieve. You think you have the potential to write a new tome, one that could contain the life force essence of a sim. There’s only one way to find out.
