The young girl on the left is most probably a preparatory drawing for Little Lidi [6058], a water-carrier girl, and the three young boys wearing traditional peasant dress would seem to be preparatory studies for Water-carrier Boys [112075]. Both Little Lidi and Water-carrier Boys were painted in the summer in 1891, during the artist’s stay in Ó-Becse.
