FAQ

Q. How long are PedalForward rides? A. Most rides are about an hour, though if more people show up than anticipated it might be longer (always a plus!). These are true “no-drop” rides and group leaders will reign in the pace if riders are falling behind.

Q. Where does the ride go? A. Ride leaders plan to take this ride through Conway proper for about 7 miles. The whole ride moves together, and will circle back to the starting point.

Q. Do I need special equipment for PedalForward rides? A. No. Any human-scale, rolling vehicle that doesn’t use gas will do. People may use ten speeds, BMX bikes, tandems, fold-ups, cruisers, mountain bikes, as well as unicycles, tricycles, pedal carts, and other alternative transport. Ebikes are welcome too! Arkansas law does not require use of a helmet, but most of our riders will use them and they’re certainly welcome.

Q: Where can I get a bike if I don't have one?

A: Hendrix students can check out a bike from the library for free, and the Hendrix Bike Shop is there for repairs on your own bike! UCA Students can check out a bike from Campus Outdoors for free. For new bikes and repairs in Conway, visit The Ride.

Q: What should I bring?

A: Bring yourself, your bike, a friend, water, and sun protection! You don't need any specialized equipment at all. Dress however you'll be most comfortable. Lights are encouraged now that fall is upon us.

Q. Are PedalForward rides safe? A. Very. These rides speak to the truth of ‘safety in numbers’, and are safe for participants of all ages, even down to young children. They increase safety for everyone by reducing speeds and making drivers highly aware of other road users.

Q. What if my question isn't listed here? A. You can message the organizers of this ride via Instagram: @PedalForwardConway, or by texting 8019103480.
