U.S. Supreme Court Certiorari and Decision Deadline Activity Proposal Meta Constitutional Amendment ㅡ Petitioner: u/caribofthedead r/ModelUSGov | June 27 2019 IntroductionThe simulation’s meta constitution and bylaws do not require the U.S. Supreme Court to accept or deny a submitted petition within any set timeframe. Other than an emergency injunction, which must be responded to within 72 hours, important legal questions to the community can linger for over five months: rendering the purpose of the work filed moot and discouraging legal and political activity. This modification will require the appointees we rely on in the Court to respond to any other petition submitted for their consideration within seven days, with an affirmative or negative preliminary decision and detailed answer as to the reasoning for the acceptance or rejection. It will also require a full and final decision on any ongoing or future controversies within 30 days of the legal petition’s filing, or if necessary for past cases undecided, within seven days of this meta petition acceptance. [THIS SECTION HAS BEEN ADOPTED BY THE QUAD AS A BYLAW EFFECTIVE 6/27/19] in other inactive positions including the simulated government, parties, committees, Board of Appeals, and Quadrumvirate, the proposal would discourage inactivity in the Court by a) permitting inactivity, including within the parameters of this petition but also when a Justice has not posted on Reddit in a timeframe reasonable for other constitutional roles, as grounds for House impeachment, and b) allowing the guidance of the meta team and of a vote of a majority of the Quadrumvirate upon a request by a community member to serve as automatic removal. A removed Justice shall be replaced immediately according to the Constitution. Signed,
