BUZZY GORDON

Award-winning journalist Buzzy (Bezalel) Gordon, author of Frommer's Jerusalem Day by Day Guide, writes about travel and tourism for print and online publications, primarily in Israel and the United States. He is a regular contributor to Ynetnews.com, the largest circulation bilingual digital news portal in the country, and a correspondent for Hotel-Scoop.com, an award-winning global blog featuring hotel, resort and lodging reviews, written exclusively by professional travel writers. In addition, he is a contributing editor for Everett Potter's Travel Report, a highly regarded resource for international leisure travel.

Over the course of a 50-year career spanning more than 80 countries, Gordon has been a reporter, editor, bureau chief and travel writer on five continents. Now based in the eastern Mediterranean basin, today he specializes in wellness and culinary tourism, as well as luxury travel. After completing a term as one of the team of writers that compiles USA Today's 10 Great Places column, he was invited to write for Travel Agent Magazine and Luxury Travel Advisor, as well as for Globorati.com, a leading website for luxury travel news. For several years, he was a contributing editor and feature writer for Jax Fax Magazine, the travel trade publication read by 90% of American travel agents.

Gordon has also been a roving correspondent for LuxuryWeb.com, and LuxuryLatinAmerica.com (the leading luxury travel portal for Central and South America), as well as a contributor to Away.com (of the Orbitz network), Group Tour Magazine, JohnnyJet.com, About.com, Centro y Sur, and Jewish publications worldwide. He was the first editor of the digital magazine Jewish.Travel, and is the founding moderator of the Jewish Heritage Travel group on Tripatini.com, a leading travel social networking site.

He is currently the most prolific restaurant critic in the English language in Israel, a destination that is now recognized worldwide as a mecca for gastronomy and fusion cuisine. In this capacity, he wrote for Northstar Media’s subscription-only service travel42.

While he accepts a wide variety of assignments, Gordon -- who is fluent in Spanish, French and Hebrew -- specializes in international luxury travel, particularly to Latin America, Asia and Europe. Additional areas of focus include ethnicity and culture; rail travel; gastronomy; and spas, health and wellness. He writes extensively on Jewish communities around the world -- debuting in 1975 -- and is an advocate for sustainable tourism.
