Award-winning journalist Buzzy (Bezalel) Gordon, author of Frommer's Jerusalem Day by Day Guide, writes about travel and tourism for print and online publications primarily  in Europe and the United States. He is a regular contributor to Everett Potter's Travel Report, a highly regarded resource for international leisure travel, and, an award-winning global blog featuring hotel, resort and lodging reviews.  

Over the course of a 40-year career spanning more than 80 countries, Gordon has been a reporter, editor, bureau chief and travel writer on five continents. Now based in the Mediterranean basin, today he specializes in wellness and culinary tourism, as well as luxury travel.


Gordon’s travel articles have appeared in leading periodicals worldwide -- including National Geographic Traveler, The Los Angeles Times, U.S.A. Today and many more -- and he has been a guide creator for An expert and veteran observer in the area of Jewish Heritage travel, his debut article on Jews in Central Asia appeared nearly four decades ago.  

In 2007, Gordon became a regular contributor to the travel section of USA Today, a national newspaper with a circulation of more than 2.3 million. After completing a term as one of the team of writers that compiles USA Today's 10 Great Places column, he was invited to write for Travel Agent Magazine and Luxury Travel Advisor, as well as for, a leading website for luxury travel news. For several years, he was a contributing editor and feature writer for Jax Fax Magazine, the travel trade publication read by 90% of American travel agents.

Gordon has also been a roving correspondent for, and (the leading luxury travel portal for Central and South America), as well as a contributor to (of the Orbitz network), Group Tour Magazine,,, Centro y Sur, and Jewish publications worldwide. He was the first editor of the digital magazine Jewish.Travel, and is the founding moderator of the Jewish Heritage Travel group on, a leading travel social networking site.

At the present time, Gordon writes for The Jerusalem Post, Israel’s foremost English-language daily; Everett Potter's Travel Report, a U.S.-based international travel newsletter;, a lodging review site whose contributors are only professional travel writer; and Northstar Media’s subscription-only service travel42.

He is also the most prolific restaurant critic in the English language in Israel, a destination that is now recognized worldwide as a mecca for gastronomy and fusion cuisine.

Before becoming a full-time travel writer, Gordon was published in such prestigious media outlets as The Washington Post and The World & I Magazine. He was also a financial reporter covering the hi-tech and venture capital sector, serving as Singapore bureau chief for the Asian Venture Capital Journal and M&A Asia.

While he accepts a wide variety of assignments, Gordon -- who is fluent in Spanish, French and Hebrew -- specializes in international luxury travel, particularly to Latin America, Asia and Europe. Additional areas of focus include ethnicity and culture; rail travel; gastronomy; spas; and health and wellness. He writes extensively on Jewish communities around the world -- debuting in 1975 -- and is an advocate for sustainable tourism.
