The AGM is scheduled for Tuesday the 25th of March.

Club Championships

This years Club Championship event will take place at the Netley 10K hosted by Southampton Athletics Club.  The date is 18th May 2014 and the club is looking into the possibility of combining the race with a BBQ – watch this space for further details.

Wyvern 10K Marshalls

The club will host the Wyvern 10K on the 13th July.  Members will be encouraged to provide assistance on the day, rather than running.  But, if you would like to run, it would be appreciated if you could provide a friend or family members to stand in for you, as a marshall or in another capacity.  Further info to follow soon.

Parkrun

If you are taking part in Parkrun (if you aren’t why not?) make sure you register yourself with Hedge End Running Club, so you can compare your results with other members.  Weekly Club Results.  We have now had 112 members taking part at Netley Abbey Parkrun, completing a total of 1902 runs.  We are now only 39 run’s behind Stubbington Green and closing in fast!

Pentathlon Competition

We have now had 230 race entries logged in the club Pentathlon Competition.  Competition is hotting up with Michael Daly leading the way in the men’s competition and Karen Andrews for the ladies.  We also have our first person to complete every distance well done to Richard Allen.   Enter your race results here, Pentathlon Results.

Race Leagues (HRRL,SXCL & RR10)

The club is entered into two leagues throughout the next few months “The Hampshire Road Race League” (HRRL), and the RR10.

The HRRL is completed across various road race events and points are scored by the club and individually.  You enter any of the races as normal and by registering as a Hedgie runner you will automatically be part of the team depending on finishing position.

The RR10 league is a series of races organised by running clubs in south-west Hampshire for their members. The races are held on Wednesday evenings during the spring and summer. Entry is free. All of the races are 4-5 miles off-road. The standard of runners varies from 5-minute milers to 12+ minute milers so, however fast you are, there will always be someone to run with.
