Bucks Wednesday League
This competition came to its conclusion WED 30th August with the Demons winning their division by 6 points. Bees just missing out on top spot by 1 point, Arrows coming 4th in same division and the Chancers coming second in their division. So well done all, next season will see Arrows playing Bees in same division and Chancers playing Demons in same division.
Scheduled for Friday 4th August 16:00hrs. If you are interested in marking for club competitions internal or external then your presence would be appreciated as it is the intention of the club to develop a competent ‘Markers List’ for future competitions
Jacquie and Sylvia played their unbadged finals today(22 July) with Jacquie just pipping Sylvia 21 - 15. Sylvia taking an early lead, Jacquie getting back to 10 - 10. On next end shot wood was exchanged 4 times before Jacquie took the jack to make 4 off it. Next end Jacquie got 3. Then Sylvia started to make a comeback until Jacquie finally sealed it. Great game by both girls, played extremely well. Great day for Cheddington and the supporters who outnumbered all other attendees..
After a convincing win against Wingrave 3 rinks to 1 it wasn’t enough to see us qualify for the k.o. Stage’s Long C. top with Winslow second.
Brian Shepherd Trophy
This trophy is played against Wendover at Wendover and they play a different club each year and we were invited this time. Guess what we won it by a margin of 29 points, well done girls and guys who played.
Well done Cheddington for winning Spooner Trophy against Winslow and Wing at Winslow.
Not the best of greens that we will be playing on this year. The weather was somewhat overcast had a drop of rain as we started but it eased up allowing us to play without our waterproofs. Top Rink also went to us Lead: Pat Tottman, Two: Chris Beddall, Three: Bob Kempster and Skip: Tony Currant
Health & Safety
A risk assessment has been undertaken at the club by Geoff Jones and Jo Tchertoff and published. No critical concerns were identified.
Twelve members attended a course on 21st April run by Red Cross which was organised by Doug Sinclair (many thanks). This included delivering CPR and the use of an A.E.D. (Defibrillator). So thanks to the club supporting this course financially in this very important step in the consideration of members health. We should also thank Colin Hill for financing the purchase of the A.E.D.
If members wish to have coaching sessions please advise Geoff Roberts (01296688610) who will then arrange your requirements
Next meeting is scheduled for the 25th Nov 2017 09:30hrs in the Clubhouse. If any member wishes to raise any items for discussion please contact a committee member.
