AMERICAN EMBASSY
VIENNA
Tuesday 20 December [possibly 1904]
Dear Mr Laszlo,
I received this morning the wonderful photographs of the two wonderful portraits of Leo XIII [4509] and Cardinal Rampolla [4511].
I am immediately

having them framed and shall value them as much as I admire them.
My son-in-law Marquis de Chambrun comes to Vienna for a week or two and I hope that one of those days I may bring him to your

atelier; asking you on the day if it is convenient for you.
M. de Chambrun admired so intensely your works at the 1902 Salon the Grammonts [sic][1] [illegible] that he has never failed to express his hope to see your other works and has continually spoken

of it. Accept again my sincere thanks for the photographs and for Mrs Laszlo and yourself my best wishes for the New Year.
Sincerely Yours,
Bellamy Storer
[1] De László’s portraits of the Gramont family [8752], [11801], [6625], [6650] and [4506] were, in fact, exhibited at the Paris Salon of 1903 and not 1902.
