Petr Peňáz (director of the Teiresias Centre): “We weren’t lucky enough to come in a better position, but it was just due to bad luck. Take the decisive goal in the match for the fifth place: the ball ended up in our goal, but everybody agrees that it was just bad luck ruining the otherwise admirable intervention of our goalkeeper.

What is more important, however, is that the impressions that the international teams as well as Czech reporters take home with them are really excellent: technical professionalism (video and audio recordings, wirelessly transmitted simultaneous commentary in English, result updates online for all platforms), perfect organization and above all the absolutely incredible atmosphere. I think that by its collaboration with Avoy MU Brno, Masaryk University gains a lot in the eyes of the public; my colleagues from Avoy MU Brno can surely provide you with an overview of media appearances (CT, Prima, and others.).”

Ulrich Phisterer (MTV Stuttgart coach, head of the IBSA Blind football subcomitee, Germany): Well it’s the second time we’ve had this tournament in Bučovice and it’s due to Jitka and her organizational skills that she managed to pull off an even better tournament than last year. Last year was already great, we had great participation. Had a fantastic, for my mind, the best match I’ve ever seen between Bahia and Stuttgart, which was a 3-3, with top players. This year we had really great weather - last year it was rainy. There is a grand stand, the organization is even better than last time. So I can only congratulate the Czech team and Jitka for her efforts.

Gerson Coelho Countinho (ICB Bahia coach, Brazil): “Thank you a lot, that you are so lovely to do all this for us, I cannot find any words how to thank you!”

Roberto Wojcik (IBM volunteer, interpreter for ICB Bahia, Brazil): ”Look I also would like to say thank you for such amazing and unforgettable experience that I will carry with me for the rest of my life! Let’s keep in touch!”

Frank Leschke (Chemnitzer FC goalkeeper, Germany): “Back in town with excellent impressions and memories of a tournament of superlatives. Top organization with blind football like from a different planet.”

Michael Falb (Chemnitzer FC head coach, Germany): “THANK YOU :) for the tournament and invitation. This was the best tournament I have ever seen since I am a coach in Chemnitz. Big respect for this great job.”

Paddy Hayenes (University of Worcester Blind Football Club goalkeeper, UK): “What an absolutely belting weekend & terrific tournament in Brno, I haven't laughed so hard in ages. Fantastic tournament and a brilliant weekend, Jitka and everyone involved, you were superb. Thank you and we hope to see you all next year. My voice is still hoarse but I'm looking forward to reconnecting with the blind football family in the coming months and at the 2015 tournament, until then Děkuji & Na shledanou! From everyone in Worcester Blind FC.”

Sven Gronau (FC St. Pauli goalkeeper, Germany): “Ende gut, alles gut... Thank you so much again. This was the greatest blind football weekend and also the greatest sports tournament I have ever experienced.”

Dimitris Kougioumtzopoulos (Pirsos Thessaloniki, guide, spare goalkeeper, Greece): “Both I and our players have, as I said before, enjoyed our stay and the tournament was well organized. The facilities were excellent and the problems that occurred were handled the best possible way. I envy your team of staff and volunteers which made everything possible. I have no comments to make whatsoever. You were great. The tournament had extremely high standards and you met them all. Good job. Hope to see you again in the future. The only thing missing was some ice for our knees and ankles between matches. Everything else was perfect!”

Jule Söhner (MTV Stuttgart, guide, Germany): “The European championships are usually a little bit more professional. For example the teams have little cards where they can write down the substitutions so that the speaker knows which number in and out. And little numbers for the timeouts – they can play a card for the timeouts, and stuff like this. But in the private tournaments, like the club tournaments, it is the very top level in organization. Absolutely.”

Scabolcs Forgacs (LÁSS Budapest, forward, Hungary): “Let me thank you again for inviting us. In this weekend we learned as much as in months at home. It was an amazing experience, thank you so much.”

Ajmal Ahmed (University of Worcester Blind Football Club, defender, UK): “I used to play for the national team so I have been to plenty of tournaments all over the world, and the Bučovice tournament was one of the best I’ve ever experienced. Even the final ceremony, which is usually the most boring part, was excellent here. If all tournaments were as good as this one, maybe I would even change my decision about this being my last tournament!”

Alexandros Karaiosif (greek referee): “I would like to thank all of you guys of Avoy MU Brno for this excellent job you do there. Hope to see you soon in a Tournament in Greece. I am very surprised about the technological support of the tournament. Because it is similar to big events like Paralympic games or the world championships. It is the first time that I saw referees report with an internet application, not in paper. That is very good. Media support is very good. We can see photographs and videos at the end of the day. And we will have a lot of memories afterwards.”

Kačka Pavlíčková (Radek Pavlíček’s daughter): “Daddy, are there any medals left? ;)”

Wolf Schmidt (FC St. Pauli head coach, Germany): “Words are missing to say THANK YOU for an amazing experience at your perfectly organized tournament! Thank you that we are in touch, and you do like our team members, and that I could be a tiny part of your tournament!

Jitka Medová (physiotherapist): “It was a really wonderful event, with atmosphere that is not common at big events. And I’m sure the organization must have been incredibly hard! I will try contacting some of my acquaintances who are entrepreneurs about sponsorship, maybe somebody else will help this important area. Thank you very much for this opportunity; I hope you (and above all the sportspeople and others) were satisfied with my work.”

David Mycock (University of Worcester Blind Football Club, head coach): “You were awesome again. The tournament was truly amazing, the best one yet by a mile. You know how to do it for sure. Brilliant, really pleased for you all out there.  Please do it again each year forever and ever.”

Maurizio Valgolio (commentator, Germany): “Was such a great time in Bucovice - felt very welcomed! I know you & the team were horribly busy - fucking good job!!!”

Katja and Michael Löffler (players of St. Pauli, Germany): “We were all very sad that we had to leave. It was a really great, wonderful and special tournament you organized. It is one of the things you will never forget in your life. Thank you so much for this brilliant experience!”

Andrew Briant (University of Worcester player, UK): “I was here last year. It is very impressive how they can bring all the different teams from the different countries together. And it is such a good atmosphere. Everybody’s here to have an amazing time and enjoy the football. Everyone is very relaxed and friendly and enjoying the whole competition. So I think it is a brilliant thing. It would be great if more countries would be able to do things like this. Because, you know, I used to play for England and went to the Paralympics and played for the GB. But now that I’m playing in club, just for my club, you know, I don’t get to play in international tournaments like this. Apart from here.  So it would be great if they could do more things like this. It is a really good thing.”

Anna Simbartlová (mentor of O2 Think Big): “I am writing to thank you for the incredible experiences your energy and passion for life and especially for blind football have brought to me. I am tremendously glad to have had the chance to get to know you and to take part in such a perfect event. Thank you thank you thank you for all the effort you put into it. For me personally it was an unforgettable experience, on the way home my head was full of emotions, almost exploding, and I spent the next few days digesting the whole atmosphere.

I hope to see you again one day, maybe in Prague at a match or in Brno when I’m visiting. And I will definitely follow your activities here on facebook! Thanks again and good luck in everything you want to do in your lives. But most of all –  keep enjoying life, friends and sport as much as you have so far!”

Jana Baštová (economist of the primary school Školní 710, Bučovice): “To be honest, after watching your documentaries there were tears in my eyes. You guys are great, I support you, do it the way you’re doing it. I know sometimes it can be too much, sometimes you encounter unwillingness, arrogance and other bad reactions. You’re not doing it for these people. You’re doing it for those whom you give back the meaning of life and desire to live. And this is worth the effort. Thank you that I could get to know you. Best greetings to everybody and fingers crossed for the future.”
