Dear Sir Charles,

Mr. de Laszlo’s studio.

In reply to your letter of yesterday’s date, the cause of delay has been owing to my surveyor not being able to agree with the builders to some of the prices of variations and, as these must be thoroughly investigated, in Mr. de Laszlo’s interest, I am informed it will be at least another ten days before a final certificate can be given.

I therefore hope to communicate the result to you very shortly, as I am as anxious as Mr. de Laszlo to get the matter settled.
