Congratulations to Diante Woodson and Taylor Wilson selected as our school winners for the Wendy's High School Heisman Award.
Congrats to the Hornets2 CS:GO esports team. They defeated a team from Texas 16-0 in their first match of the High School Fall Majors tournament, which is part of a national online gaming league.
Saline County High School Dance
Students in grades 10, 11, and 12, from Bryant, Benton, Bauxite, and Harmony Grove are invited to a dance at Bishop Park on Friday, November 17, 8-11pm.
This dance is sponsored by CAE (Central Arkansas Entertainment), which will provide the music and DJ. The theme is “Fire and Ice” and will feature Laser Dance Lighting. Admission is $5.00 at the door. Pizza, soda, and water available for $1.00 each.
No drugs or alcohol allowed on premises, and security strictly enforced. NO re-entry allowed once a student has left the building. The dance is NOT a school sponsored event.
Auditions for this year's musical Footloose the Musical will take place on November 6th & 7th in Love Auditorium. This is an open call to any Bryant High School student 9th through 12th. Prepare 32 bars of an appropriate pop song. Please email Mr. Clay at email@example.com to arrange a five minute time slot on the 6th and dance call will be at 5pm on the 7th.
Volunteer Fair: Get all the information you need to start volunteering with organizations in our community!!

Applications, flyers, and other information will be available for different organizations such as Humane Society, Habitat for Humanity, Saline Memorial Hospital and more!
Smash Brother's tournament: We are starting to plan the Smash Brother's Tournament benefiting FBLA. The tournament will be the week before Thanksgiving. The cost will be $5. More details will come. What I need right now is volunteers who are willing to bring their Wii U's, the game Smash Bros Wii U, and controllers. Please contact Mrs. Qualls Room 10-400.
Opportunity:The Rotary Club- District 6170 is excited to offer the experience of a lifetime to High School students ages 15-19 through long and short term youth exchanges. The time to start Long Term (full school year abroad program) applications for 2018/2019 is now! Scholarships of up to $1,000 are also available to approved long term applicants. Deadline for long term application is Nov. 1! More information in the Counselor's Office.
BHS now has an Ethics Bowl! If you like to argue and want to compete in debate, then Ethics Bowl may be for you. Deadline to commit is October 23rd. See Mrs. Wilson in room 8-26 for commitment form.

On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (October 24-26) Student Senate will be selling pink ribbons to raise money for breast cancer awareness month. Ribbons cost one dollar and all proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer foundation. Every dollar donation will enter students in a drawing for gift card; there will be three winners announced at the pep rally (October 27). Help fight cancer and buy a ribbon!
Bryant Hornet N.E.S.T (Network Engineering, Security, and Telecom) will have its next meeting on Tuesday, October 24th, 2017 from 3:45 pm to 4:45 pm after school in Mrs. Ritchie's room in Building 22.
Mu Alpha Theta will be meeting on Wednesday October 25th at 7:30 in room 10-435.
BHS Coat Drive- Oct. 23rd-27th.
Help the YEA! team collect coats for our community. Bring your gently used coat to building 15-103! These coats will be cleaned and distributed to the public free of charge. Distribution day is Nov. 1st in the Gene Moss Building at Tyndall Park. For more information email Mrs. Kordsmeier @ firstname.lastname@example.org.
FCCLA meeting is next Thursday, October 26. Come see who our Dude.Be Nice recipient is and what we have planned! We will also confirm all the Boo at the Zoo placements!
Flu shot clinic will be 8:30-11:30 October 25th in the Multipurpose room. Forms will be provided in all 4th period classes. Completed FERPA and consents should be returned to the nurses office by Tuesday, October 24th. Additional forms and staff consents are available in the nurse's office.
The library should be a peaceful, safe place for ALL students. If you choose to come into the library, please remember the library is not a student center, cafeteria, or football stadium. No loud talking/noises and no food or drink or you will be asked to leave. In addition, Mrs. Downey has personally bought the decorations you see in the library. Since the first month of school, some of those decorations have been stolen to the point that all decorations will be removed unless the items are returned. If you are one of these people, please return the items so our library will continue to look beautiful. Thank you.
FBLA is selling $1 raffle tickets for a chance to win an iPad Mini 4 w/ OtterBox case (over $500 value) for our Fall Fundraiser!! Please stop by any business teacher's classroom or find a FBLA Member. Drawing is on November 1st!!
