Congratulations to Mr. Scoggins - Teacher of the Year for BHS.  He is also the TOT teacher of the month for April.  Go by and let him know how much we appreciate him.  Thank you Mr. Scoggins for doing what you do and caring for our students.

Try-Outs 

The Legacy of Bryant Color Guard will be having a flag clinic and tryout next week (4/23 - 4/27) from 3:45 to 6:00 in the Bryant Elementary School Gym.  Anyone and everyone is invited to attend the clinic and tryouts.  This group is a huge part of the Legacy of Bryant Marching Band that performs at football games and contests throughout the Fall semester.  Individuals with dance skills are highly encouraged to audition, but everyone is welcome.  Please wear athletic clothes and be ready to move!  If you have any questions please email kmatthews@bryantschools.org.  Come be a part of this award winning organization!!

Boys Basketball tryouts will be Monday April 23 3:45-5:30.  Everyone interested in trying out must have a current physical.  Any questions please see Coach Abrahamson.

Tennis Tryouts will be April 30, May 1.  Tryout packets are in the office.  You must have a physical and a 2.0 to tryout.  You must sign up in the office and pick up the tryout forms.  

All Tryouts 3:45-5:30.

Golf Tryouts for the 2018 BHS Golf Team will be on May 7th at Hurricane Country Club.  Any 8th-11th grade student may tryout for the team.  If you are interested in trying out, use the code 10rkil, to access the 2018 Golf Team Page in Google Classroom.  Additional information about the tryouts and an information sheet that must be submitted to Coach Griffith are found there.

Cross country tryouts for students in grades 9-11 will be held Thursday, May 10th at 3:45 at the stadium.  All participants must have a current physical on file in order to try out.  Students who do not already have a physical on file must turn in their physicals to Coach Oury (boys) or Coach Dale (girls) by May 2nd.  The physical must include a physical exam sheet, a physical history sheet, and a HIPAA form.  All three of these forms can be found at the "links" page on bryantathletics.com, or can be picked up from Coach Oury, Coach Dale, or at the attendance office.  Students not currently in 7th period athletics can sign up for the tryouts in the attendance office.

Sr. Volleyball Tryouts for girls currently in grades 9-11 will be on May 10 from 4-6 pm at the BMS gym.  You MUST have a current physical with medical history and HIPPA form.  See Coach Solomon to get those forms if you do not already have them.  If you make the team, there will be a parent meeting on Monday, May 14 at 6 pm.

Applications/Classes for 2018-19

Best Buddies is accepting officer applications for the 2018-19 school year. You may apply online bestbuddiesonline.org. If you have any questions see Jenna Vos or Mrs. Poe. Application deadline is May 1st.

Next year Internship students, we will have meetings with you this week.  Meetings will take place Monday, April 16th - Friday, April 20th during ALL class periods in the Multi-Purpose Room. Below we have assigned dates based on last names. Speak with your teachers and find ONE class period that you can come meet with us on your assigned day, if at all possible. This initial meeting will take about 10 to 15 minutes. We want to limit the amount of time you are out of class as much as we can. You are responsible for any missed work. Thursday, April 19th: last name T - Z, Friday, April 20th: makeup day

Students, please be sure to keep track of your ID badges through the summer. We will be using the same ones next year. If you need a replacement see the librarians. There will be a $5 fee to get a replacement.

Prom tickets will be sold during all 3 lunches TODAY in room 10-404.

TOT is sponsoring the 5th annual Think Tank for Education.  This will be in building 2 room 6 on April 19th after school.  Colleges will be here to answer our questions about careers in education.  Parents and Students are welcome to come and learn about this wonderful career. YEARBOOK SLIDESHOW AND DISTRIBUTION DAY is coming up Mon. May 7 in the Building 1 gym. If you did not preorder a yearbook, they will be for sale first-come, first-served for $70 cash only.

Who wants a free prom ticket? We are in search of 5-10 hard working students to help clean up prom from 11pm-2am on April 28th. You will receive a free prom ticket-$30 value, community service hours, and food will be provided. Please email Mrs. Hare (hhare@bryantschools.org) by April 13th if you are interested or would like more information.

Prom 2018 April 28th at BISHOP PARK IN BRYANT

All students buying prom tickets will be required to complete a prom application. These are available April 9th-April 26th. Prom Tickets will go on sale on April 16th.  You will be able to buy tickets from April 16th – April 26th in Mrs. Kilburns room (10-404) during 1st period, 1st lunch, 6th period, and 7th period. Cost will be $30.00 per ticket April 16th-April 25th. Tickets will also be on sale on April 26th for the late price of $40.00.   Absolutely NO tickets will be sold after April 26th, including at prom!

In order to buy a ticket you must be a Bryant High School 11th or 12th grade student (must have student ID OR driver’s license # at time you purchase ticket AND to enter prom).  If you are taking a date that is a Bryant Public School student you must have their ID # when buying your tickets and they must show their ticket or ID to get in prom as well.  If you are bringing a date that is NOT a Bryant student then you must provide a copy of their driver’s license or birth certificate. These can be scanned and attached to the application OR you can email a picture of their license to bryantprom2018@gmail.com with the subject “your name - date’s name ID” (must be able to read the license number and date of birth in picture). PLEASE have your CONTRACT filled out and everything complete when you come to purchase a ticket!

We want this years prom to be the best ever.  In years past we have had people that had to be removed from the prom because of illegal substances. These students were disciplined according to our student handbook some seniors who were one month from graduation completely lost credit for the term and did not graduate.  Please understand that there will be resource officers at the prom and that all persons attending are subject to be searched/and or given sobriety tests if there is reasonable suspicion. If there is any suspicion of anyone being under the influence of any drug they will be checked.  School policy will be followed for all infractions of any school handbook rules. We want everyone to have a fun and SAFE evening. Thank you ahead of time for your cooperation.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

No one 21 or older will be able to attend the Prom. Also remember that ANYONE attending the Prom, whether they are a Bryant student or not, must follow the Bryant High School Student Handbook Policy!

Applications are now open for the Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council for the 2018-2019 school year. Applications will be accepted through Tuesday, May 1st. Interviews will be held on Wednesday May 2nd and Thursday May 3rd.
