Many of us have downloaded the “Couch to 5K” app, which offers daily instruction/motivation to slowly get you ready for the 5K.  Team Life will also be offering many activities in the Fall and Spring to assist with preparation, beginning with those highlighted in this newsletter.  Whether you want to take advantage of the time to prepare or whether a 5K is a walk in the park for you, this event promises to be a lot of fun and a great way to connect as a campus community.

Team Life is proud to offer a new activity for faculty/staff, family & friends to get involved in.  Doe Asombrado, through Team Life, is leading a Palomar team at the San Diego Half Century Ride 2016 on Sunday, April 17, 2016.  This biking event is a 50 mile loop inland via the 56 bike path and on to some of the most scenic roads in San Diego – with a return trip along our beautiful San Diego coastline.  **There is also a 30 mile route available. The event is $55 for early registration, through March 17th, and $65 thereafter up until the event.

To help prepare folks for the ride, Doe is coordinating Sunday social rides, in conjunction with Cycling Adventures.  The club’s Sunday social rides are free!  Interested employees should contact Doe via email (dasombrado@palomar.edu) or phone (x 2380) prior to attending the Sunday social rides.  She will determine your baseline riding ability and divide individuals into groups.  The Sunday social rides will continue until event day.  In addition, individuals will have the option to bike commute to work with Doe to San Marcos or Escondido.
