Highwayman has way more poetic devices and it’s a way longer poem, where Dear friends, We surely agree is way shorter and seems to have less poetic device. Highwayman also is a harder poem to me and it’s more complicated, the metaphor is so different that I can’t really understand the poem too much. However, it could be deeper and the meaning can be more inspirational. But Dear friends, We surely agree holds a easier poem but a very deep meaning. It says to not be addicted to something when it describes how a women does not care about her surroundings and just chews the gum all day long. The author uses imagery and describes the issue with a bunch of lines in the poem, which is also why this poem isn’t so short.
