FAQ’s

Can I come & try it out?

You are very welcome to come along and sing with us for a taster session.

There is no charge for this. There are no auditions to join.

How do I know which part to sing?

Singers are encouraged to move around to find a part which suits them best.

If the notes are too high or too low, feel free to move to another section.

How much does it cost to join?

The cost per session is £4. We follow the school term dates so a term is typically 11 or 12 weeks’ duration. Payment is made in advance for the whole term, so the cost would typically be £44-48. It is not possible to pay for part

of a term.

Do I need to be able to read music?

All the songs are taught by ear and through repetition so there is no need to read music. For many of the songs, tracks of the individual harmony parts are posted on our Google Drive account so you can practise in your own time if you wish.

Is this a performance choir?

The main aim of the choir is to give people a chance to enjoy singing with others and to have some fun. However, we are happy to sing at local community festivals and we sometimes organise our own concerts in aid of local charites.
