In your Project Dashboard, you can:
In the Editor, you can:
Making module visuals fit your organisation’s look & feel
Select from the different themes, or create your own from scratch:
Note: You can change the colours to match your organisation’s brand identity. HEX / RGB and HSL colour schemes are available in the drop down options; try it by clicking on the colour box.
Font sizes and text alignment can be changed for each screen under the “Screen Settings” panel. Highlight specific characters and words within the screen preview to bold, italicise, or underline them. Hyperlinks can also be added to your text; you can use them to direct learners to view additional training content via a new browser tab. ArcLab also supports multiple languages and the use of emojis too!😎
Engaging learners through different screens increases efficiency of learning
Add screens to your module by clicking on the “+ Add Screen” button at the bottom of the left side panel. Reorder your screens by dragging them up or down the panel. You can also duplicate screens to keep the formatting of an existing screen. Different types of screens have different settings which can be configured under the “Screen Settings” tab found on the right column of the screen.
While you are in the editor dashboard, you can navigate to different screens by using your mouse to scroll up and down on the left thumbnail panel, or simply press the Up 🔼 or Down 🔽 arrows on your keyboard.
Rich media evokes emotions from your learners and results in higher participation and knowledge retention. Hence, we encourage you to add relevant images or play a tutorial video to your learners.
Add an image
Note: Supported image files include PNG / JPG / GIFs. Maximum file size for PNG / JPG is 5 MB. Maximum file size for GIFs is 5 MB and the ideal minimum dimension is 828 x 600 px[1].
Add a Video
Note: Supported video files that can be uploaded by PRO users include MPG / AVI / MP4 / MOV / FLV / WMV. Maximum file size for videos is 1 GB.
Use assessment screens to increase your learners’ interaction with your Nano Learning modules. By encouraging them to act on their learning and allow them to apply their learning. There are 4 types of assessment screens.
Multiple Choice Question
Multiple Select Question Screen
a. MSQ Quiz
b. MSQ Poll
Likert Scale
An alternative to the Poll Screen to obtain learners’ views and perspectives. Learners get to answer on a 5-point scale to provide more quantifiable data to your questions.
Open-Ended Question
Use open-ended questions to up the challenge for your learners. Alternatively, they can also be used to collect feedback from your learners. You can specify responses to be mandatory or optional by switching the “Optional” toggle button on the right panel.
Auto-Grading
Open-ended questions can be automatically graded to save you time from manually scoring your learners’ responses:
Note: As of Apr 2021, ArcLab’s auto-grading engine now supports non-Romanized language (e.g., Mandarin, Korean, Tamil). Our SmartTranslate feature also translates the grading rubric into your selected languages automatically.
Note: When enabling auto-grading, it is important that your open-ended questions are
well-defined and specific. Avoid constructing vague and abstract questions that could
generate a diverse variety of responses from learners.
Word Unscramble
Gamify learner’s assessment by getting them to rearrange and form words or phrases.
Note: If the time limit is not set, learners can try up to 3 times before they will be shown to the next screen and the unscramble question will be graded as incorrect.
Form Screen
The form screen can be used to collect information about your learners if your project is not restricted to private learner communities (for PRO only, more on this later). You can add up to 5 fields by simply clicking on the “+ Add new form field” button located under the screen settings panel to your right. Then, customize each of your field labels and its respective placeholder text.
For learners who might not have ready internet access, you can export your ArcLab module (either individual screens) or the entire module.
Select the “Image” icon at the top of your Editor middle panel, above the screen, and select accordingly. The files will be added to your browser ‘download’ folder, which can be shared with learners to access offline if necessary. Note: learners viewing the exported file offline are not part of Learner Analytics.
Digital Badges to accredit your learners
When learners successfully answer the questions of your Learning Module, reward them and give a word of encouragement.
At the NanoCred Screen,

ArcLab Discover allows you to browse through different nano-learning module templates
ArcLab SmartTranslate is our AI-assisted feature that empowers you to create modules in multiple languages to serve your learners’ specific needs, all with the click of a button.
After you have created your ArcLab in your base language, you are now ready to use ArcLab SmartTranslate to convert it into different languages.
Step 1: In the ArcLab editor, click the Translate icon at the top of the browser window
Step 2: Select the language you want to translate the module into
You can add as many translations as you wish.
Simply click on the translate iconon your editor dashboard again and “+ Add Smart Translation”. To view all the translated versions that you have added to your module, click on “Select Translated Version” in the same dropdown menu.
Step 3: Check the translated text and make refinements where necessary
That’s it.
When your learner clicks on his/her invite link, he/she gets the option to select which language to access the module in, to best suit his/her language preference.

Personalised Learning that caters for different learning speeds
At your End-Screen, send learners with different scores to different resources, e.g., reviewing the basics for those who didn't do so well, power activities for those who ace-d the module.
We're laying the foundations for personalised learning through Screen Branching, because we all learn differently.
Do remember to save your project periodically by clicking the “Save” icon at the top right of your ArcLab Editor (circled in pink beneath).
Midway through any changes that you’ve decide not to proceed with, you can also restore the last published version of your project by clicking the green dropdown arrow button at the top right of your ArcLab editor, and select “Restore Last Published Version” (circle in green beneath).
ArcLab Basic gives you much of ArcLab functionalities, which are sufficient for a number of our users. Unfortunately, we are only able to provide a limited number of modules (2) in Basic. ArcLab Basic modules are also public, ad-supported and we are not able to provide individual learner analytics at the Basic tier.
For most of our customers, this might not be enough and that’s where our ArcLab Pro tier offers immense value.
ArcLab Pro gives you access to all Nano Learning templates, all ArcLab screen types and other amazing features like private learner modules, inviting designated learners to access learning modules, individual learner analytics, scheduled reports, skills profiling etc. Learn more about the ArcLab Pro features in the following sections.
Upgrading to ArcLab Pro is easy. Simply click on “Account Settings” under the dropdown bar at the top right hand corner of the screen
Fill in your organisation’s details, scroll down to the button and click “Update”. You are all set!
Creating Nano Learning is always free with ArcLab, even in ArcLab PRO. All you pay are affordable subscriptions for unique ACTIVE learners, regardless of how much learning content they consume.
At the Top Center of your screen, click on the down arrow beside the project title and select: (more in the following sections)
(i) Make projects public/ private, add learners via their emails or phone numbers.
(ii) If your project is made public, you can allow users to share your module on their social media, or allow them to use your module as their own template, by adding to their ArcLab dashboard.
Decide whether to restrict your learning module to your private learning community (default option), or open it to the public.
Make your project private to selected learners
Your selected staff will receive an email or SMS with their unique module link and a welcome message to the module. They will be able to directly enter the module through the web link. No app downloads necessary.
If you need to make changes to your Authorised Learners list, this can be done easily by downloading the list of existing learners from your Editor dashboard.
Click “Upload Authorized Learners” button in your module or learner dashboard
Followed by “Download”
An excel spreadsheet of your existing Authorised learners would be downloaded.
Now all we need is to make your required changes to the Authorised Learner spreadsheet.
Here are 3 video tutorials that shows you how to:
Module remix enables you to adapt and use public ArcLab modules as your own template. You can also contribute to the learning community by enabling your modules for ‘remixing’, as long as the content within is not private & confidential.
Note: Module remix cannot currently be performed on smaller screen devices such as mobile phones. For mobile phone users/learners, your module template will be sent as a URL link to their email address which they can later access on a bigger device.
Your analytics reports can be sent to multiple stakeholders via the CC function.
Under the questions settings option, there are 3 different features:
Note: With navigation enabled, the correct answer (and explanation) will not be revealed after each question. This is to prevent learners from obtaining an artificially perfect score.
Here’s how you can do this in the ArcLab editor:
Use the folder system to easily find your different modules
Share multiple modules by utilising Folders
1. On your Project Dashboard, view your folders by clicking on Folders on the left of the dashboard. Select the Folder you want to share and click on the ellipsis menu button to show Sharing Settings.
2. Select the staff / learner you want to access the module by checking the square box next to their emails in the “Authorised Learners” list (or check the box in the top row to “select all”).
3. Click “Invite Learners”
Your selected staff will receive an email or SMS with their unique link.
They will be able to directly access the folder through the web link. No app download is necessary.
Track your learners’ progress and use the data by upgrading to ArcLab Pro
See highlights, individual responses as well as aggregated data with ArcLab’s Learner Analytics feature. Use this data to help you identify learners who need help, map skill gaps, compare performance across locations/branches/time, and refine your content if necessary. The learner analytics data can also be downloaded into csv format, for you to study further offline.
To access the Learner Analytics of each module,
If you don’t see any data or charts, it’s because your learners have not accessed your Nano Learning modules yet. Prompt them to get started!
The Learner Analytics dashboard is divided into 3 tabs:
This tab aggregates your workforce's top-level learning data.
Scroll down further to see each of your learner audience’s performance “heat map”.
Green represents good performance for that learner for that question, while red suggests that learner/question might need some help from you.
See the performance of every learner and information about their attempts at your module.
Click “View Attempts” to drill down into each Learner’s performance for each attempt.
See a more in-depth analysis of your learners’ performance by question.
Better understand the trends of your learners’ performance over time or at specific time periods.
You also have the option to delete analytics entries from specific time periods (or the entire period), by clicking the trashcan icon next to the date selection panel.
Do note that this process is irreversible, so only delete analytics entries you know you won’t need any more.
For Modules that are grouped together in a folder, we present a consolidated view that allows you to track learners’ progress it an aggregate level.
Access the for your respective folders by clicking the blue “Folder Analytics” button at the top right of the dashboard when you are in the folder view.
Under “Highlights”, you can see at a glance the high-level metrics as well as the access numbers for each module.
Default display shows analytics for ALL learners. Click on the “Select branch” field to filter analytics at individual branch level.
Also see which learner is lagging behind so you can do the necessary interventions and follow-ups, down to individual work unit levels.
The “Module tracking” tab allows you to track the performance of each learner across different modules.
Want to share all the insightful learner analytics visualisations you see? You can download / print them to share with your management or key staff members.
In Chrome: click the 3-dot menu tab >> Print | In Safari: click “File” >> Print |
Make sure you select “A3” paper size, then save or print your Learner Analytics visualisations to share with your management or key staff members
The Learner Dashboard is where Learners can access all the modules that are made available to them. They are able to see which modules they have completed and which modules they have yet to complete.
To access Learner Dashboard
Have the modules you want to share with your Learner’s in a Shared Folder.
Go to your Share Settings in your Projects Dashboard to set access permissions for the Shared Folder.
Click on the link sent to you for access to your Learner Dashboard
You will be able to view both Completed and Uncompleted Modules that are in the folder.
That’s it!
You’re all set! Upskilling your team is as easy as 1-2-3. Thank you for choosing ArcLab Nano Learning for your organisation!
