This is a preparatory drawing for a formal half-length portrait painted by de Laszlo during several sittings with Dr. Putti commencing on 30 April, 1935 [111056] and completed on 4 May. The work is in the collection of Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute, Bologna and housed in the Putti Library there.

A portrait of Admiral Miklós Horthy, Regent of Hungary [5689] is on the recto of this sheet.
