This week is super news light. I want to split the show down the middle. First half, all nub friendly, full of factoids that new players might miss. Second half, term heavy meta talk. Lots of decent emails in the box.

The Map Rotation and Double Support (Double Warrior?)
Winning with solo tank Sonya. Supports have enough damage, CC and are reactionary (Whereas double tank CC all needs to be proactive)

Hey guys
Going along the lines of welcoming new players INTO THE NEXUS, i had a question. Are there any goals you would recommend new players work to achieve? Not like shooting for Plat in Team League, but sort of on the 'one step at a time' level. In addition to this, are there any milestones you feel players should take the time to appreciate on their road to reaching their goals? (also are/were there any milestones you guys were/are proud of)
Thanks for all you do for the community,
Bram
Hey guys!
I'm LOVING the show and it got me back into Heroes after I quit for about 2 months. The subject I'm mailing about is a bit of a theory I've been cooking up and I'm curious what you think about it. I gotta be careful not to make this one too long.
When drafting, a player shouldn't think about a role or what they want to play, they should think about doing a job. Jobs vary per map and against certain team comps, but they are not the same as roles. A job is peeling, which is usually done by a tank, though some supports can do it too.
Other jobs are things like: solo-laning, mercing, pressuring enemy backlines, creating lane pressure or double soaking xp. They can overlap a lot, but that's not really the point of naming something a job. It's about clarity in expectations for your team. If I pick Sonya, I know I will be bad at peeling, but good at solo-laning, putting pressure on squishies and mercing. My team has seen what a Sonya can do, and expects those things. If I don't do it, they can tell me to "DO YOUR JOB, SONYA!"
If a player doesn't do what a team expects from that hero, there will be chaos. Healers start soaking alone, Tanks try to dive into the backline and mages focus warriors. Players should try and take responsibility for the jobs they can do with their hero. If they do it well, you can say: "Good job!"
So next time you draft, look at the map think about what jobs there are to do, because it gives you the idea to take heroes that do what needed to be done, instead of picking another warrior for no reason.
What do you think?
Bul-Kathis smiles on you this day,
