Position: Food Concession Worker
This position supports the smooth running of the Food Concession. Please review the “General Information” document for a full description of expectations for all InCON volunteers.
This individual will report directly to Danya.
There will be a Food Concession in each venue. In the Florence Filberg the concession is downstairs in the kitchen, off of the Evergreen Lounge. The Lounge will serve as seating for people enjoying the food and drink. In the Native Sons Hall the concession is upstairs in the Grand Hall. There is no seating here.
The idea of our concessions is to provide snacks such as pop and chips for those feeling peckish, and leaving the ‘real food’ for our delicious food trucks.
Specific tasks in the food concession include:
Food prep - actual preparation of food will be limited to heating up ready-meals.
Serving food and drinks - Getting drinks and snack items out from where they are stored, receiving the prepared food, and taking it all over to the customer at the counter
Counter Person/Cashier: greeting customers, taking orders and collecting money.
You will also be required to keep the area tidy throughout the day. Good communication and working as a team is imperative. This can be a fast paced work environment. Flexibility in switching positions or assisting with the different positions would be an asset. Other duties may be required to be performed to ensure the smooth running of the food concession.
Food Safe is not required, but would be an asset. Individuals should be proficient handling money, work well under pressure and be able to handle a fast paced work environment. The ability to work well as a team member and customer service skills are mandatory!
