The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at Sacramento State is offering a free tutoring program for K-12 school students. The mission of the Math Tutoring Buddies (MTB) Program is to provide free, high-quality one-on-one tutoring to K-12 school students in the local community that will enrich the learning opportunities for both university and K-12 school students.
For Parents: Math Tutoring Buddies is a free tutoring service provided by the Department of Mathematics & Statistics, at Sacramento State. This program relies on multiple sources of funding, such as ASI Student Employment Grant, Instructionally Related Activities. The program appreciates any donations. Donation Page Link
Note for Parents/ Guardians: Parents/ Guardians are required to supervise their children during the tutoring sessions. Parents/ Guardians please complete the Release of Liability form before the first tutoring session.

The following are the program goals for the Math Tutoring Buddies Program:
The objective of the Math Tutoring Buddies Program is to improve the mathematics literacy for K-12 school students and provide a window to higher education through a positive mentoring experience from Sac State tutors.
K-12 school students will benefit from this program, specifically by:
Athena My name is Athena Butron and I am in my Junior year at Sacramento State majoring in Mathematics with a teaching emphasis. This is my first year with MTB but I hope to learn and gain teaching techniques to become a High School Math teacher. I am a College Corps fellow. | |
Benjamin Hi, my name is Benjamin, I am a Junior here at Sacramento State majoring in Mathematics with a minor in Statistics. This is the start of my first year tutoring for MTB, I am excited to be helping students with math problems and am looking forward to building upon my math skills at the same time. | |
Daniel Hi, my name is Daniel, and I'm a senior at Sac State. My major is math and I have minors in statistics and economics. This is my first year tutoring at MTB, and I hope to help students understand and enjoy doing math. | |
Maxwell My name is Maxwell, and I am a Senior at Sacramento State majoring in computer science and minoring in Mathematics. This is my second year with MTB, I aim to help students understand and enjoy math which in turn will strengthen my own skills in math. | |
Ramiro My name is Ramiro, and I am a third-year student at Sacramento State studying Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics. This is my first year tutoring at MTB, though I have previous experience helping my younger brothers with their studies. I look forward to improving my tutoring skills while helping students gain confidence and a stronger understanding of math. I am a College Corps fellow. | |
Sheng My name is Sheng, and I am a junior at Sac State majoring in mathematics and computer science. For the past two years, I've been tutoring at MTB, where I help students understand certain topics while also refining my tutoring methods to be more effective and efficient. | |
Shiv Hello! My name is Shivjyot, and I am a Senior at Sacramento State majoring in computer science and minoring in Mathematics. I enjoy solving math problems, playing chess, and participating in outdoor activities. I look forward to mentoring and helping students grow. |
