Job Description

  • Building and supporting an engaged community
  • Developing peer relationships with your KIN Camp group and other participants

  • Attending and completing mandatory KIN Camp Leader training courses
  • Role modeling outstanding student leadership
  • Facilitating activities throughout Camp weekend
  • Communicating with the 2026 KIN Camp Coordinators

Position Length: ~20 hours between June-Sept 2026, plus three full days/nights during the event

  • Beyond Kin Camp - continuing connections made and actively fostering community

Event Duration: Sept 11-13th, 2026

Requirements: 

  • Must be in year 2, 3, 4 or 5+ of Kinesiology as of September 2026
  • Must be able to attend mandatory training on date TBA – late August or early September (Labor Day Weekend)

  1. If chosen as a Leader, you may be expected to help out with other committees on top of your own responsibilities. How would you manage having multiple responsibilities effectively (100 words max)?

  • Logistics (i.e., manage bus booking, event set-up/take down, equipment)
  • Promotions & Clothing (i.e., coordinate event promo/marketing,creation of KIN Camp clothing)
  • Food Management (i.e., coordinate meal prep for +100 people for event)
  • Safety/ First Aid (i.e., oversee all medical needs and safety of participants)
  • Social Planning (i.e., developing activities to encourage creation of friendships and fun)
  • Academic Planning (i.e., developing activities to inform campers about UBC/KUS/School of KIN opportunities and ways of involvement)
