15th August, 1931.
I wish to thank you for your letter of August 11th and for the delightful description of the festivities recently held at Glamis Castle, of which I have read so much.[1]
I am very pleased to hear that my portraits of the Earl and Countess of Strathmore [11642][11641], and also those of the Duke and Duchess of York [9126][9123] are so much appreciated; such news gives me always great satisfaction.
After being kept unusually busy for several weeks I am feeling very exhausted at present and leave to-morrow for Baden-Baden to take a three weeks’ rest cure, after which I shall join my family in Tyrol, and we all return home by September 15th.
With kindest regards and best wishes, | Yours very sincerely,
