Stephen Lepire, Principal

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

Your high school student is enrolled in a 2022-2023 Advanced Placement or IB course based on their preparation for such courses, their willingness and ability to meet academic challenges, and the significant level of support they receive from family and friends. Students in AP/IB courses are encouraged to take an AP/IB exam at the conclusion of the school year. The following information serves to guide parents and students on the AP exam registration process.

Your student will be able to take their AP Exams for 2022-23 at NPHS during May 1st - May 5th  and May 8 through 12, 2023.  For your convenience, a calendar is included at the bottom of this letter with the exam schedule.  A more complete exam overview with dates and times is found here: 2023 Advanced Placement Calendar.

Next Steps: Ordering an exam is a 2-step process that begins now and must be complete by November 1, 2022, to avoid additional fees.

  1. JOIN using your College Board MyAP username and password.  Log into AP Classroom to join a course or take an exam.  Instructions can be found at College Board AP (here). Students must register with the appropriate Join Code for each exam they wish to take.
  •  Your teacher or college and career center can supply the correct codes.

  1. PAY for AP exams by using a credit card only through your Google Chrome browser via the District’s Q Parent Payment Portal.

2023 AP EXAM FEES

  • Standard Fee is $105
  • Reduced Fee will be applied on all exams for students enrolled in the National Student Lunch Program (see counselor).
  • Late Registration Fee is an additional $40 per exam and is applied as follows:
  • After November 1st for first semester and full-year courses
  • After March 1st for second semester courses
  • Cancelation Fee is $50 per exam and is applied as follows:
  • After November 1st for first semester and full-year courses
  • After March 1st for second semester courses

Important Reminders:

  • The College Board does not permit cell phones or other unapproved electronic devices in the testing room.  On exam day, remind your student to store their phone in a place outside of the test room or to leave it safely at home.  If your student brings a cell phone or other electronic device on exam day, they will be required to surrender it upon check in and reclaim it after dismissal from the exam.

  • The current public health and safety guidelines will be followed during all AP exams. If you have questions, please reach out to your student’s counselor.

Sincerely,

Kristina Keener
