4th May, 1937.

Madame la Duchesse de Gramont.

I have just received your card,[1] and am glad to hear that the portrait of that fine old man, Mr. Edward Tuck [7369], is so much liked in the Salon.[2] I am now expecting to hear from Armand[3] what he thinks about it, and how the picture is hung, as he promised to write me.

I am sorry to hear that you are disposing of some of the beautiful treasures which came down to you from your parents, and if you have really decided to do so, they could not be in better hands than those of Dr. Borenius, who is a very fine man of great knowledge. I note you are going to stay at Claridge’s, and we look forward to seeing you while you are in London. It is high time you come to London.

Regarding the charity, I am sending you twenty-four postcards after my portraits of Their Majesties, and I am sure they will help you. If you wish to obtain copies of Mr. Tuck, they are done by Braun & Cie.,

I am glad to say I am feeling better, and everything does well with us.
