My dear De Laszlo,

Your portrait [5403] now hangs on our wall & the more I see it the more I realise its force and power. It will be such a constant pleasure to Hilda[1] & me to have the companionship of the two beautiful examples of your art [5403] [5401] which you have so generously bestowed on us.[2] I feel I cannot thank you

enough, as I said before, but I must tell you again now that the picture is here how much I appreciate it & value it as a token of your friendship.

We are both very glad to think that tomorrow you & mrs De Laszlo are going off for a holiday[3] & hope you will have a really good rest & return thoroughly reinvigorated when you come back we look forward to seeing you –
