Codification of the GM Codex

For the immediate and safe continuance of moderation on the subreddit

Section I. Purpose and Intent

This bill acts as a binding agreement between the GameMasters and The Democracy Of Reddit, as a general contract to ensure that GameMasters act in accord with a set of binding rules and that the subreddit can safely continue without their interference.

Section II. Definitions

GM or GameMaster refers to anyone of the ‘everything’ level user that is not a government or elected official within the moderators section of the subreddit.

The DOR refers to the Subreddit r/democracyofreddit and its extraneous or attached subreddits.

Section III. Provisions

  1. The GameMaster’s Codex listed here: GM Codex shall be a binding document which GM’s operate by.

  1. GameMasters must also refrain from hiring as a GM anyone who is not a member of the subreddit, and must provide the application to legislature and president any individual whom they wish to become a GM.

  1. New GMs must be approved by a majority of the Legislature or by the President and Speaker.

  1. New GMs cannot be banned users.

  1. The GMs must provide reasonable requests for evidence to the Secretary of Post Moderation.

  1. The GMs must provide reasonable answers to the Speaker, President, or Chief Justice for questions related to their moderation of our subreddit.

Section IV. Enforcement

Enforcement of these provisions shall be a joint and binding agreement of trust. Enforced through the president, speaker, and chief justice in conjunction with the entirety of the GM team.

It shall be expected that the GameMaster’s produce evidence and counter arguments to legitimate and good faith arguments against their performance, and they must produce a pathway at all times within their Codex which outlines a process for removal of a GameMaster.

Section V. Implementation and Oversight

This bill shall be implemented immediately by GMs and respective government officials.

Section VI. Amendments and Repeal

A.This binding agreement may only be repealed by a 3/4ths majority of the Parliament with approval from both the President and the Chief Justice.

B. Adjustments to this bill may be made with a simple majority of agreement by the parliament and the approval of the GMs however they decide upon that internally.

Section VII. Effective Date

This Act shall take effect immediately upon passage by Parliament and approval by the President
