‘Preparing each child for their future in an ever-changing world’
CARE - COURAGE - RESPECT - RESPONSIBILITY
NEWSLETTER 13 16th December 2016
From the Headteacher
We have successfully negotiated our way to the end of what has been a very busy term.
Reception class has settled in remarkably well and, alongside many other activities, we have had a visit from the Life Education Bus, a successful Craft Fair and the Year 6’s have really enjoyed their equestrian experiences at ‘Inside Out’
The whole school really enjoyed our Christmas celebrations, the Reception and Year 1 performance was lovely, with each child singing with gusto, the Year 2 and 3 Nativity was particularly enjoyable with some beautiful singing.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas ands hope that you are able to enjoy a relaxing time with family and friends.
On behalf of all the staff I would like to pass on our thanks for all the Christmas cards and gifts you have generously given - they are very much appreciated.
British Legion Poppy Appeal
I was delighted to hear that we raised £210.53 from the sale of poppies and the other ‘goodies’. This is a fantastic sum for our small school to have achieved and supports a very worthwhile cause - thank you all for your donations.
We say goodbye to Jan Heapy and Lorna Baptie from Breakfast Club, and Joan Newborough our Lunchtime Supervisor and thank them all for their hard work and dedication, the children will miss you all!
Jan will be remaining in school as the Year 6 Teaching Assistant and Margaret Leishman, Year 3 TA, will take over the running of Breakfast Club in January.
Marie Sangu has joined the catering team this half term and will also take on the Lunchtime Supervisor role from January.
We also bid farewell to Zoe Hornblow from the office who is moving on to pastures new and we wish her well in her new venture. Sammy McIntyre will be taking over Zoe’s role as Receptionist, on a part-time basis, working Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8.30 - 3.30, Sammy will be a familiar face to many of you and I’m sure you will make her welcome.
Minibus Drivers Required
We need to increase our pool of minibus drivers, if you would be interested in helping out (training will be provided) please contact the office.
