SPRINT is an annual outreach and access program for Indigenous, Black, and racialized high school students to learn about psychology, gain research experience, and build lasting academic relationships. Supported by the Department of Psychology, SPRINT is led by undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral trainees, who seek to foster an inclusive and anti-racist environment in psychology, research, and higher education. YOUR OPPORTUNITY

As a leading member of the executive team, the Community Partnerships & Sustainability Coordinator establishes and maintains relationships with internal and external partners to support the program’s operational and long-term goals. These include but are not limited to targeted recruitment of IBR high school students and volunteers; securing program funding via grants, sponsorships, and donations; creating opportunities for collaboration and growth; and ensuring SPRINT’s long-term sustainability (i.e., ability to continue running and become a permanent program).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify suitable partners within and outside of the University of Toronto in alignment with program objectives
  • Establish and maintain meaningful and mutually beneficial partnerships to advance program objectives
  • Maintain a database of current and prospective partners, tracking engagement activities, communication, agreements, and outcomes
  • Liaise between faculty members, university departments, external organizations, and community stakeholders to ensure alignment of goals and expectations
  • Collaborate with other committees to develop and execute outreach strategies for outreach and community engagement
  • Collaborate with other committees to prepare funding applications
  • Evaluate partnership impact and suggesting improvements based on feedback and outcomes
  • Develop sustainability plans to ensure the long-term success and scalability of the program
  • Provide in-person support and document program operations for sustainability planning for 5 program days (i.e., the first and last days of SPRINT, as well as 3 additional program days)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student, or alum of any postsecondary institution*, preferably in psychology, education, social sciences, community development, or a related field
  • Strong commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, with a demonstrated understanding of issues affecting Indigenous, Black, and racialized communities.
  • Experience with community outreach, partnerships, or engagement initiatives in academic, volunteer, or professional settings.
  • Experience in SPRINT and/or working with high school students or youth is an asset.
  • Experience with funding proposals is an asset.
  • Familiarity with community organizations that serve IBR youth is an asset.

*Note: All work, including remote responsibilities, must be completed within Ontario in compliance with University of Toronto policies. Candidates who are working out-of-province or out-of-country are ineligible to apply.
