NAME(S) ON TILE: DAVID J. COOPER
DONOR NAME(S): TAMMY L. COOPER
David John Cooper was born in Jeanette, Pennsylvania, on July 15, 1968. He is the son of Glen D. Cooper and Angela E. Teofilo Cooper. His family has long been a part of this region. He grew up in Irwin, Pennsylvania with his three sisters until age 16 when his family moved to Orlando, Florida. Dave’s father was transferred to Orlando along with all of the mechanical engineers at Westinghouse’s East Pittsburgh division. Dave missed Western Pennsylvania, so he decided to attend the University of Pittsburgh. He graduated in 1990 with a degree in civil engineering. He and his wife Tammy have made Western Pennsylvania their home.
In his spare time, Dave enjoys learning about the history of Western Pennsylvania, and exploring the area. He has taken a Pittsburgh history class, and enjoys talking to his older relatives in Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania, about how life was when the 999 coke ovens were in operation.
Dave is excited about the Pittsburgh Regional History Center and is proud to offer his support. He hopes that his contribution will help the Historical Society of Western Pennsylvania continue to research the rich history Western Pennsylvania has to offer so all people can learn about the region he calls home.
