Application Process

In order to be eligible for consideration for the Noe Middle School Visual and Performing Arts Magnet Program or the Gifted and Talented Magnet Program, a student must meet the following criteria:

In addition to these requirements, students who are applying for the Gifted and Talented Magnet Program also must score at least a 24 on the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) to be considered for the General Intellectual Gifted and Talented Magnet.  Special considerations will be made for underrepresented populations.  Those who meet this minimum criteria will be ranked-ordered, based on the criteria and program capacities.  Meeting minimum criteria does not guarantee acceptance due to space issues.

Students who are interested in applying to Noe must complete the optional programs and magnet programs and schools applications form online at

The school will review the student’s attendance records, grades, behavior, and test scores.  Parents of non-JCPS students will need to provide grades, attendance records, and test scores.

Beginning of the School Year
Teams across Jefferson County Public Schools have been working to determine the safest way to start the 2020-2021 school year due to COVID-19.  While a final decision hasn’t been made yet about the start of school, more information that details the district’s process in making a decision that prioritizes the safety of our students and staff can be found on the district’s website.
