I Dream of Broadway

- Alexandra Wein -

I dream of Broadway

The bright lights, the big city

New York, New York

That’s where Im meant to be

I dream of Broadway

The rush and the noise

The taxis and the marquees

And the boundless energy

I dream of Broadway

The community of friends

Of dedicated people

Working at their craft

I dream of Broadway

The overture swelling

The music making magic

And enchanting the whole town

I dream of Broadway

The comedy and the tragedy

The theatres and the stages

And the Playbills and the wings

I dream of Broadway

The stage doors, they open up

Pulling me in

Enticing me too

I dream of Broadway

Of pin curls and hairspray

A gleaming new costume

And tan leather character shoes

I dream of Broadway

The sunlight of the stage

The roar fo the applause

The tingles down my spine

I dream of Broadway

Of heart and soul

Of finding yourself

And then letting go

I dream of Broadway

Of belting all night

Telling a story

Inspiring the world

I dream of Broadway

I know it’s far away

But soon, soon someday

Broadway
