Team 60 At Alberta 55+ Summer Games

Tournament Notes:

So, our overall record was 4-1, and the only reason we lost the one game, is because of the home run rule. After 2 home runs are hit by a team, any additional home runs are an out. So, we had 4 additional home runs hit, including a grand slam, that all were outs instead of runs. Kind of a crazy rule when there is a 5 run limit every inning anyway. Oh well, it all worked out in the end.

Trent Rasch - pitcher

Mickey Getten - catcher/3rd

Kevin Sauer - 3rd/ catcher

Randy Biko - 1st

Jeff Thompson - 2nd

Blaine Lutz - SS

Dave Hammel - LF

Dery Eresmen - LC

Mike Ferre - RC

Larry Larson - RF

Wayne Miller - 55 sub, played various positions

Jamie White - pretty much everywhere, whoever needed a rest.

Dennis Dulle - allstar scorekeeper and head cheerleader.

Our line-up was solid. Up the middle defence was exceptional, with many game-saving and game winning double plays executed. Our offence was also outstanding, with everyone's bats working very well.. Sometimes too good, as the 2 home run rule was always exceeded.

All-in-all, everyone came to play with a great attitude. Everyone played, everyone sat on the bench. It was a wonderful team effort. I think we may now qualify to go to the Canada Senior Games in NB next August, but have to check on that for sure.
