ELA

Unit 1: Identity  Essential Question: “What Makes Me, Me?”

• We wrote our own   Where I’m From, poems inspired by George Ella Lyon
• We have added  figurative language and sensory details to enhance our  poems, shared with classmates, and self-assessed our work.
• We have also read   a memoir, Names/Nombres, about the power of names in identifying who we are.

Math

• Daily Agenda- Please use this link to stay up to date with what your 7th grader is doing in math.

• Homework is required each week, you should have gotten an email about IXL. Please reach out if you have any questions. The recommended amount of homework is 5 minutes per night, or 30 minutes per week.
• Grades are updated in infinite campus. If your 7th grader needs to make up their test or retake their test, they need to let me know via email.

Science

We are getting to know how the science class will run all while learning lab safety and memorizing the scientific method.

This week students are working in pairs on poster projects related to absolute monarchies. They have all picked an absolute monarch who ruled between 1492 to the present day and are creating posters to share information about them, what they’re known for, and how they fit our definition of absolute rulers. We’ll continue working on this after the fall break.
