FINAL MARK[1]

(Write your final mark)

Note: Upload the final activity into your eportfolio (Dossier: Speaking Folder).

  •  Describing Homes (Pair work activity). First, let’s divide the class into pairs (A and B) and give each student their half of worksheet. It is important that students must not show their partner their worksheet.

Instructions:

  1. Student A has to read out the whole description of her/his home.
  2. Student B has to listen and write the answers to the questions in her/his worksheet. Students can also listen to the description later.
  3. Once you finish, upload this worksheet with your answers to Dossier: Speaking Folder.

Important: If you can’t write (whatever reason it is), check the Voice Typing in Google Docs Tutorial (Escritura por voz) to know how to use it.

STUDENT A

I live outside the city in a large house with my family. There aren’t many buildings near our home, but there is a small shop across the street. We’re lucky because we have a large yard behind our house, and so we also have a big garden and two black dogs called Tippy and Tinny.

I like my bedroom because it’s large and it has a large window, but I have to share it with my younger brother. We have five bedrooms in our home. In the living room, there is a lot of furniture – there are three big bookshelves and there are several chairs, a sofa and two armchairs, so when friends come to visit everyone has a place to sit. I think our home is really great!

  •  Listen to student B’s description and answer the questions:

1. What type of house is it?

2. How many bedrooms are there in her home?

3. Where is her laptop?

4. What colour are the walls of her house?

5. Is there a shopping centre near her house?

STUDENT B

I live in a terraced house. It is in a quiet area in the north of London. Downstairs there are a large kitchen, a big dining room, a sitting room and a bathroom.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms and a study. There is also another big bathroom. The biggest room is my parents' bedroom, but the room I prefer is my room. In it, there is everything I need: a comfortable bed, with a night-table beside it, a large wardrobe for all my clothes, a writing desk with a laptop on it and the TV, of course.

The walls of my bedroom are painted in pink, while all the other walls in the house are white. There is a beautiful park near my house where I like to relax in the afternoon when the weather's sunny and warm. I love my house.

  •  Listen to student A’s description and answer the questions:

1. What is across the street from his home?

2. What is behind his home?

3. How many windows are there in his bedroom?

4. How many bedrooms are there in his home?

5. What does he say about his living room?
