What is Leadership Lebanon? 

Leadership Lebanon is a program the Chamber of Commerce offers to support individuals who aspire to take on key leadership roles within our community. Whether you’re new to the area or a lifelong resident, our goal is to provide an experience that builds strong leadership skills, highlight many of the organizations that shape our community, and create meaningful networking opportunities with fellow emerging leaders.

Each leadership class also selects one to three local charitable organizations to support throughout the program. Together, participants raise funds that are presented to these organizations at graduation, reinforcing the program’s commitment to community impact.

This program is also an excellent precursor to joining organizations such as the Chamber of Commerce and Lebanon Tourism. If you know you want to be involved and are unsure of where or how to start, Leadership Lebanon is a great place to start!

What type of commitment is required?

Leadership Lebanon is a 2-year commitment. Year one requires 1 full day per month from September to April for each session, 2 after hours events for a meet and greet & graduation, and two fundraising events organized by the class with guidance from the Co-Chairs.

Each session includes visiting various locations around the county to learn how different organizations contribute to the community. During the first year, there is an attendance policy allowing no more than two absences; exceeding this results in forfeiture of tuition and the completion certificate.

The two fundraising events are typically a silent auction during the Dickens Christmas event and a Cattlemen’s Fundraiser. While these are the traditional methods of raising funds, there is no limit to the number of fundraising activities your class can pursue–feel free to get creative!

What happens in the 2nd year?

Two class members will volunteer to serve as Co-Chairs for the following class. The Co-Chairs will provide guidance and assist the incoming class as needed. Class members who are not serving as Co-Chairs will each select a day they would like to plan–typically 2-3 classmates per day. Guidelines and suggestions are available to help with planning. We ask that everyone commit to the planning of their session. It should be noted that attendance of a session is an option for those who plan it. In other words, if you plan a fun day, you’re welcome to join in on the fun!

Tuition & Funding

If accepted into the Leadership Lebanon program, you or your employer (sponsor) will be billed for the tuition fee of $275. This covers most of the program costs, including but not limited to the orientation retreat, t-shirts, graduation, & supplies.
