CJRL's policy regarding holiday leave will follow Mississippi's ten official holidays (http://www.sos.state.ms.us/ed_pubs/Proclamations/). Following Mississippi Code 3-3-7: "in the event any holiday hereinbefore declared legal shall fall on Sunday, then the next following day shall be a legal holiday." In the event that the governor declares additional dates to be state holidays (surrounding the original ten or adding additional), those days will be considered CJRL holidays.

Employees who work more than 20 hours a week will receive their regular pay for the Board-approved holidays if the holiday falls on their regularly scheduled workday.  Part-time employees may make up a holiday if it falls on their regularly scheduled workday.  If a holiday does not fall on a regularly scheduled workday, it will not be received as an extra day.

Holidays falling during a vacation period are not counted against personal leave.
