‘Preparing each child for their future in an ever-changing world’
CARE - COURAGE - RESPECT - RESPONSIBILITY
NEWSLETTER 1 9th September 2016
I hope that you have all been able to have some rest and relaxation over the summer break.
We have had a very productive first week back and it has been lovely seeing all the children again. In order for us to maintain this productive start we will be asking that parents from Year 1 to Year 6 drop the children off at the door and allow them to come into school independently. This enables us to settle the children quickly and have a smooth start to the day.
To help with this there will be an adult stationed at each door, they will be able to take any messages and assist with children as required.
This year we have ordered some new customised homework diaries for Reception, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The diaries will contain new curriculum spelling lists, phonics, maths sheets and a new layout for recording homework.
We would like parents or children to record all the learning they do at home / out of school. This will include any clubs children attend, the weekly reading and other learning you or your child would like to share with us.
The aim of these diaries is to improve communication between home and school however the unfortunate / ironic thing is that they won’t be ready for 3 weeks. As soon as they arrive we will send them home but until then we will record on a bookmark that your children can keep in the books they are reading.
Are supplied by Trutex in Didcot at £4.95 each, they are currently being printed and should be in stock in 7-10 days
