We’re revolutionising employment support through AI-driven innovation and voice technology so that anyone whose life circumstances hold them back from meaningful, inspiring employment can overcome their challenges and build a brilliant future for themselves. We’re particularly keen to transform deskless workforces, people working in lower-paid shift roles in sectors like hospitality and retail, to create more engaged, supported and valued workers.
👉Struggling to balance work with caring responsibilities at home? We can help with that.
👉Trying to re-build your confidence after taking a career break to raise kids? We get it.
👉Bouncing between short term accommodation and lacking stability? We’ve been there.
👉Weighed down by persistent mental health challenges and anxiety? You’re not alone.
👉Reintegrating after a stint as a young offender? No problem, we’ve got you.
Earlybird is the always-available assistant for people wanting to invest in their future but struggling to make it happen. We partner with employment support providers who offer programmes for folks from all sorts of backgrounds and experiences, and make sure all of them have an opportunity to succeed. We’re there during their employment support programme, but also when they start work: we know that many people struggle to hold down a job for various reasons, so our support never ends.
We’ve recently closed our $800k pre-seed round, backed by leading impact VC funds including Resolution Ventures, Impact Shakers and Ada Ventures as well as some fantastic angel investors and Google. We’ve also received financial backing from the Mayor of London’s Innovation Unit and Innovate UK. We’re growing quickly and building our early team to help us hit our next milestones. The founders have exceptionally high standards but also pour everything they have into their people to support them to develop and grow.

We’re moving really fast. Our biggest problem is that we have a massively ambitious roadmap to execute on and very limited bandwidth to do so. We want to find someone who can be a force multiplier for the founders, and enable us to stay focused on execution without letting the best opportunities fall by the wayside.
If everything goes exactly to plan, you will:
Our priority is building a high-impact, diverse team of entrepreneurial folk who love taking ownership and doing the impossible
In particular, we’re looking for people who are obsessed with the idea of creating a world in which everyone can thrive in employment. This is more important than any particular experience or qualifications.
This is because:
👉 We believe work is better when it’s purposeful
👉 We know in a fast-paced startup, a lot of things will change and our vision remains our only constant
👉 Global, social impact is in our DNA and we want to keep it that way
There are also a set of things we think are important, but we’re a team of people doing things we’re not qualified for so don’t let this put you off if you don’t “tick all the boxes”.
We love going above and beyond to invest in our people, because nothing is more important than the team
At Earlybird we really do live by our values: they’re a huge part of how we hire, reward and fire.
We are obsessed with customer value
We place the needs, satisfaction and overall experience of customers at the forefront of every decision we make.
We are impact driven
We are dedicated to making a positive impact by empowering our end users to thrive in employment.
We earn trust through our actions
Trust sits at the core of how we collaborate with each other, partner with our customers and build our products. We aim for all of our stakeholders to put their trust in us and our vision for the world.
We empower the best people to be even better
We are biased towards hiring the best people and empower them to always deliver excellence.
We are inclusive by design
We believe that diversity of thought and inclusivity by design leads to the best outcomes for our customers and users.
We think deeply about how to set our team up to produce outstanding results. After many months of deliberating, testing and research we decided that operating with a 4-day work week was the best way to do that.
Ultimately, we believe that people do their best work when they have sufficient time to take control of their schedule, let their mind wander, upskill themselves, learn about interesting topics unrelated to their daily work, spend time doing the things they love and re-energise themselves.
We find that working intensely with extreme focus for 4 days a week pushes us to be intentional about how we spend our time, and avoids the wasted work that many startups unknowingly engage in - whilst benefiting employees who love having an extra day each week where they can do whatever they want.
That’s why we work 4 days each week, but pay for 5. We know this makes us unusual, but we strongly believe that having the very best people we can find is the single most important factor in our future success, so we love investing heavily in our team and setting them up to succeed.
👉 Part-own the business with generous share options
👉 Work 4 days a week
👉 London office space in a fun part of London (Brixton)
👉 Access to WeWork when you need to be more central
👉 Mentorship opportunities through Founders’ networks
👉 Huge progression opportunities shaped around you
We look forward to reading your application.
