FIRST TIME ALONE
Debbie woke up early that morning feeling nervous and excited; she was leaving for the school trip, and for the first time in her life, she was so worried about leaving home. On the one hand, she was looking forward to going to the school trip, but on the other she had never left home for five days before.
Her dad had understood what was happening, and tried to cheer her up. When the time came, he took her to the bus station and put her baggage in the bus. When he made sure that his daughter was feeling alright he decided to leave, and let her have some fun with her friends. Some time later, the bus also left and the trip began. She felt relieved when they left. However, although previously she wanted to enjoy the route, she had a nap. When the bus arrived to the hotel her friend woke her up and they went to their room. It was amazing, everything from the big comfortable beds to the great view to the sea in front of the hotel!
Each day on her trip was a new experience for her; they went to museums and to other archeological places, they visited old traditional neighborhoods, and they went even to scientific research centers. The last day was the best one, the teachers let all the kids do whatever they wanted to; she and her friend had coffee and then went to grab a bite. In the evening, they sat somewhere near the beach to watch the sunset. When they got back to the hotel, her friends and she had a party all night and didn’t sleep at all. The next day, on the return trip, all the girls were asleep because the previous night had been exhausting.
Although, at the beginning she was feeling worried and nervous, the trip turned out to be an unforgettable experience, and she ended up talking about it for the rest of the year!
