Dear Mr Laszlo

We propose to hold in January next an Exhibition of Portraits of the Chiefs of the Staff & the Admirals & Generals who are in command at the front^[1] & we are receiving considerable support for the proposal.

You have I believe painted several of these (Lady Beatty has this morning promised the loan of that of her husband from your brush [2803]).We should be glad therefore if we could have your assistance & support if you would kindly give it.

The Exhibition will

we are assured lead to commissions being given & it is to this source that we must look for any return as the admissions after deduction of the expenses of advertising will be handed over to a war fund.
