To my sister, that silly little girl who always shined brighter than the sun. I still see her light even though it no longer shines.

A Witch Among Us

Chapter One

Sunday, September 2, 1662, 15:45

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/zkfQmi1Qp5SqYASdy9U2Wq1OXTbZX0iIlONp-KfDhgySZPQ9E02O7o7Da1VaKaksqFhfCKwZfPSaEygvg8N15aIlntg8fprbRilb-9EK9KYOKYtOj3C1y-aq6o0c_Ik5YdOiqeSh

The day started out just like any other day. The men were out hunting, and the women were with the children. Everything was completely normal, that is until I came home from hunting that day. I walked into my house, where my daughters were. I had two daughters, Elizabeth, and Rebecca.

I walked into their room, and that was when I saw it, blood on the walls, drawings of pentagrams, there were even small animals splayed out on the walls. I gaped in horror. I looked over at my daughter who was spewing this white substance out of her mouth and she was speaking in tongues. She was clawing at her skin and defacing her body. I grabbed her and ran with her to the town chapel, carrying her on my shoulders.

When I found the priest, I simply asked that he exorcise my daughter. He quickly tied her to a chair and sprinkled holy water on her. She let out a scream of a thousand voices. The priest started saying, "In the name of Jesus Christ tell me your name!"

He said this many times before the foul beast finally spoke. "We are legion because we are many. We will never leave, we will never leave, we will never leave!!!"

The priest then pulled out a crucifix and touched her forehead. The demons screeched. The priest chanted, "In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, I command you, leave this child and never return!!!" The demons then let out one final, awful scream. The girl was free, but how did a God fearing Christian child get possessed?

There was only one way to explain this. There must have been a witch. I told this to the priest. He just nodded his head, then said, "If there is a witch then the only person who knows who it is would be the girl.” And thus began the witch trials!!

Chapter Two:

Saturday, November 3, 1663, 14:45

Later, after months, there were over 200 people accused of being witches, and over twenty people executed for it.

There was one witch, however, who was different. Her name was Saras, and at the moment of her execution she cursed the town of Salem. "On the day that someone finds my body, Salem will burn.”

The thought of that terrified the people of Salem, so after she was burned. Her burnt body was put into a lead lined coffin and thrown into the ocean. Also to prevent anyone from being able to find her body, they threw another twenty lead lined coffins filled with sand. The precautions worked, for now.

Chapter Three:

Monday, November, 27, 2015

About four hundred years later, the government began cracking down on the lead levels in the ocean, since it was affecting fishing. Researchers traced the increased lead levels to an area of ocean off the coast, near Salem. As soon as they realized that it was coming from that area, the government started funding a cleanup effort.

They were actually trying to hide some corruption that had been taking place, but they wanted people's attention on the lead in the ocean. Unfortunately they did not know what was causing the levels to elevate. A private investigator put a reward out for the person who found where the lead was coming from.

Chapter four:

Monday, July 4, 2016, 11:32

Today was my first scuba diving lesson, and I was very excited. I looked at my instructor, Mr Whallborge.

"Okay Sarah, remember to monitor your oxygen, and don't resurface too quickly, and-" he started to say, but trailed off after seeing the look in my eyes. He realized that I knew. He sighed, giving me a signal.

I jumped into the water. Out of nowhere, a riptide pulled me out to sea. I panicked, and it just carried me further and further. Then I had an idea. I dived under the water, and that was when I find a big black box. I knew that most people who happen to find an ominous looking black box on the ocean floor would ignore it.

I felt this almost pull to open it. I reached at my side and grabbed my diver’s knife. Slowly, I cut away at the ropes holding it shut. The door opened. I gasped at what I saw, then blacked out.

Chapter five:

Monday, July 4, 2016, 21:30

"Today, a local girl by the name of Sarah K. Alweather went missing after a diving lesson. The parents are horrified that there little girl is nowhere to be found. The little girl is only seven years old, and the coast guard has been looking all day, and won't stop until they find her."

The parents appear on screen. "Please, if you have any information as to where our little love muffin is, please do not hesitate to call."

The reporter switched tones and said, "And in other news, GMC has just put out a recall for another two thousand cars. GMC claims no liability for the ignition problem that developed, and causes the for car to spontaneously combust.”

Chapter six:

Friday, July 8, 2016, 11:45

At a whiskey distillery in Salem, a spark erupted in one of the pressurized fermentation chambers. Suddenly the entire distillery was enveloped in flames. The flames quickly spread to the cars in the parking lot, catching them on fire as well. Now, as the fire spreads to the woods, the distillery owner says, "Well, fuck me."

The fire continued spreading. Within a few hours, the entire town of Salem was enveloped in fire. The fire swept through the night. It took thirty minutes before the fire department was able to do anything. The town burned to ashes.

Chapter seven:

Tuesday July 5, 2016, 16:45

Sarah woke up in a underwater cave, scared, cold, and wet.

"Hello? Anyone there?" Sarah said. That was when she realized that her scuba gear was missing. She looked around and saw a little girl dressed in black clothing.

"Hey, miss!" Sarah yelled, but the face that turned her way was all melted and disfigured. Sarah screamed in terror.

The figure moved closer. Sarah was too scared to move. The little girl then grabbed her and merged her soul to Sarah’s body. Sarah was still in her body, but instead of her being the driver, she was the passenger.

Part two:

Witch’s Revenge

Chapter Eight:

Friday, July 8, 2016, 22:30

A little girl walked into Clear Creek Distillery, and no one paid her much mind. She walked into the back where the pressurized fermentation vats were and started fiddling with the equipment. Again, no one paid her much mind. She attached something to the vat and walked out.

The device had a timer on it set for one hour and fifteen minutes. The little girl laughed to herself as she walked out of the factory.

Chapter nine:

Saturday, July 9, 6:30

A reporter came on the TV speaking about the fire.

"Last night at exactly 11:45 p.m., The Clear Creek Distillery caught fire. The blaze has now spread through Salem as fire fighters work around the clock to fight the blaze. In other news, the missing little girl, Sarah K. Alweather, has recently been found. Parents are ecstatic to have their little girl back.”

Chapter ten:

Saturday, July 9, 2016, 12:00

Sarah sat in her room, watching TV. Whatever came over her earlier seemed to be gone now. All she knew was that for now at least she was in control of herself. She remembered the horrible things she did while she was under that spell.

Her parents knocked on the wall "Come down and eat," they yelled up the stairs. Looked like it was time to eat.

Chapter eleven:

Saturday, July 9, 2016, 8:30

Firefighters continued to fight the blaze in Salem. Already thirteen homes had burned to the ground, and if gone unstopped, this fire would burn down a good chunk of Massachusetts. Salem was doomed.

A few hours ago the town had been evacuated. As the fire neared the edge of the town, however, it started to slow down. The firefighters were baffled.

As soon as the last home in Salem had turned to ash the fire just stopped.

Chapter Twelve

Sunday, July 10, 2016, 14:15

Residents returned only to find all their worldly possessions completely destroyed. Even though the town had been evacuated, thirty people still died. People held candlelight vigil for the people who died. This was the biggest tragedy in Salem history.

Chapter thirteen:

Outside time

I, Saras, am standing in front of God, after finally settling my business on Earth. Was it maybe a little extreme to burn down an entire town? Yeah probably, but they deserve it for executing an innocent child. I will likely go to Hell for this, but at least to me it is worth it. I only wish I did it when those sadistic bastards were still alive.

I finally approach God, and when he speaks, I tremble at his feet. "Saras, you did a very evil deed by acting the way you did, but since you were good and faithful in life, I will give you two options. Either go to the place of gnashing teeth, or you shall wander Earth for a thousand years, then come be with me."

I quake at the sound of his voice. After I regain my composure, I say, "I choose to wander the Earth, then be with you," and that was that.

And the ghost of Saras is still seen to this day.
