Lesson 3: NAFTA

Practice Activity

Instructions: Choose one of the following practice activities to complete. Be sure it will score well on the grading rubric.

OPTION 1

Pretend you are a member of the United States Senate. Also pretend that the Senate has to decide whether or not to renew its agreement economic alliance with Mexico and Canada, known as the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Pretend that you are for remaining a part of NAFTA. However, the other senator from your state is against NAFTA. Persuade your fellow senator to vote “yes” to renewing NAFTA. You may choose the vehicle in which to persuade your colleague. In other words, you can try to persuade him/her by creating a video, multimedia presentation, letter, song, rap, poem, etc, etc. You choose what works best for you! Be sure to include all of the information at the bottom of the page.
